to assess and levy annually, on the assessable properly of said
county, so long as they may deem necessary, such sum as to them
may appear reasonable, not, exceeding thirty dollars each, for the
support and maintenance of Ann Tippett and Ann Tyser, of Saint-
Mary's county, and that the same be collected annually by the. col-
lector of said county, and by him paid to the said Ann Tippett and
Ann Tyser, or their order.

CHAPTER 3.

An act to allow further time to the Securities of Thomas
Thompson, late Collector of Dorchester County, to com-
plete their collection.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the power and authority granted to the securities of the said Thomas
Thompson, late collector of Dorchester county, by virtue of an
act of assembly passed at December session eighteen hundred and
sixteen, entitled, An act for the benefit of the securities of Thomas
Thompson, late of Dorchester county, to collect all sums of mo-
ney and balances owing to the. said Thomas Thompson, late col-
lector of Dorchester county as aforesaid, be and the same are here-
by continued upon the terms and conditions of the said act, to the
first day of January eighteen hundred and nineteen.

CHAPTER 4.

An act to authorise Thomas Pearson, late Collector of Caro-
line County, to complete his collections.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Thomas Pearson, late collector of Caroline county, be and he is here-
by authorised and empowered, to collect until the first day of Janu-
ary eighteen hundred and nineteen, all balances due him as collec-
tor of said county, in the same manner which he could or might
have done within the time limited by law, any law to the contrary
notwithstanding.
2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said Thomas
Pearson, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the property of
any person or persons for taxes, fees or public dues, in virtue of
this act, to deliver to, or leave at the last place of abode of, such
person or persons, his, her, or their executors or administrators,
chargeable with the same, at least thirty days previous to levying
such execution or distress, an account written in words at full
length, of the taxes, fees or public dues, demanded of him, her or
them, with an affidavit thereto annexed, if required, that he hath
not received any part thereof, nor any thing in security or satis-
faction for the same, more than the credit given, to the best of his
knowledge.

CHAPTER 5.

An act to settle and ascertain the Salary of the Members of
the Council for the ensuing year.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
each member of the council shall be entitled to receive, for the ensuing
year, the sum of five hundred and thirty-three dollars and thirty-
three and one-third cents, current money, for his salary.
