Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby direct-
ed, to pay unto George Montle, or Mondle, now of the state of Pennsylvania, and
late a soldier in the Maryland line, during the revolutionary war, or his order, a
sum of money annually, in quarterly payments, equal to the half pay of a soldier,
as a further remuneration for those meritorious services rendered his country du-
ringthe American war.

rised and directed, to pay, annually, in quarterly payments, to Benjamin Mur-
dock, a lieutenant in the Maryland line during the revolutionary war, the half pay
of a lieutenant during life.

ed, to pay to Andrew Willis, of Washington county, a private in the revolutionary
war, or to his older, annually, in quarterly payments, a sum of money equal to
the half pay of a private, as a further remuneration to him for those services by
which his country has been so essentially benefitted.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby direct-
ed, to pay to the official members of the Methodist Church in Annapolis, or to
their order, the sum of two hundred pounds, out of any money in the treasury not
otherwise appropriated, to enable them to reserve seats in the new meeting house
in the aforesaid city, for the accommodation of the members of the executive, legis-
lature, and judiciary of the state.

rised and required, to pay annually, in quarterly payments, to Michael M'Cann,
of Frederick county, or order, an old revolutionary soldier, the half pay of a pri-
vate during the remainder of his life, as a remuneration for his meritorious servi-
ces.

rised, to pay to Elijah Smith, of the city of Baltimore, an old soldier, annually,

rised and required, to pay unto James Hood, of Anne-Arundel county, or his or-
der, annually, in quarterly payments, during his life, a sum of money equal to the
half pay of assistant commissary, for his services during the revolutionary war.

rised and directed, to pay unto James Sew ill, an old revolutionary soldier, or his
order, during his life, a sum of money equal to the hall pay of a private, annually,
in quarterly payments, out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, as a fur-
ther remuneration for his services during the American war.

Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore be and he is hereby autho-
rised and required, to negotiate for, and obtain from such bank or banks as may
be willing to loan the same, a sum not exceeding forty thousand dollars, for the
purpose of discharging the debts incurred by the inspectors of the penitentiary in
rebuilding the house, and repairing the injuries occasioned by the late fire which
happened therein, which loans this state engages to repay within two years, with
interest thereon.

Resolved, That the governor and council be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, to draw upon the treasurer of the western shore for a sum of mo-
ney not exceeding nine thousand dollars; to be by them expended in repairing the
public buildings at the seat of government, and in enclosing and improving the pub-
lic circle in which the state house is situated.

sum of one hundred pounds current money of Maryland, for a negro slave who
was drowned inconsequence of his being pursued as a fugitive from justice.
