CHAPTER 181.

An act to authorise the division of the Land therein men-
tioned.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the county court of Queen-Anne's county be and is hereby autho-
rised and directed, on application of any of the heirs of Susanna
Watson, late of said county deceased, to issue a commission to five
sensible and discreet men, to divide equally the land called Maiden
Hall, lying and being in the county aforesaid, of which the said
Susanna Watson died seised in fee tail, and in fee simple, and one
moiety thereof shall be allotted to, and held by, the heirs of the
said Susanna Watson, in fee tail, and the other moiety thereof
shall be sold under the decree of the said court heretofore made.
2. And be it enacted, That the, said commissioners, or a majority
of them, before they act, shall take an oath, to be annexed to the
said commission, well and truly, and without favour partiality or
prejudice, to divide the said land.
3. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners, or a majority
of them, shall employ a surveyor, at the expense of the said heirs,
to survey and lay down the said lands, and the same when so sur-
veyed and divided, to make a return thereof to the said court under
their hands and seals, which shall be ratified or rejected as justice
shall dictate, and if ratified, shall he recorded and remain binding,
and if rejected a new division shall be made and returned as afore-
said and the parties concerned may appeal to the court of appeals
for the eastern show from the judgment of the. said court.
4. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners shall be allow-
ed by the said heirs the sum of two dollars for each day they shall
be actually engaged in dividing the said land, and such heirs shall
pay all other expense incurred in the execution of the said com-
mission.

CHAPTER 182.

A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act relating to the
Levy Court of Baltimore County.
Sec 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Baltimore county he, and it is hereby au-
thorised and empowered, to appoint seven collectors of the county
tax, one for each election district of Baltimore county, and as
many for the city of Baltimore, as the said court may deem neces-
sary to collect the county tax, assessment or levy, made or impos-
ed by said court for the year eighteen hundred and seventeen, and
the said collectors shall severally give bond to the state of Mary-
land, in such penalty, and with such security, as the said court
shall prescribe, conditioned for the faithful discharge of their du-
ties as such, which bonds shall be filed and recorded in Baltimore
county court, upon which suits may be brought by any corpora-
tion or individuals interested therein, and copies thereof, under the
seal or the court, shall be good evidence in all cases whatsoever.
2. And be it enacted, That such parts of the act passed at the pre-
sent session of the general assembly, to which this is a supplement,
