property, or any part thereof, acquired by any person or persons
whatever before the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 166.

An act to prevent the erection of Booths within two miles of
any Camp or Quarterly Meeting in Anne-Arundel County.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
whosoever from and after the passage of this act, shall erect a
booth for the purpose of selling, or shall sell or dispose of, any spi-
rituous liquor within two miles of any Methodist camp or quarter-
ly meeting in Anne-Arundel county, during the camp or quarterly
meeting of the said Methodist society, shall forfeit and pay a sum
not exceeding one hundred dollars current money of this state, to
be recovered in the county court of said county by indictment, one
half of the sum which may be recovered to be applied to the use
of the county, and the other half to the person or persons who
shall make information thereof.
2. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall be construed
to hinder any ordinary keeper or licensed retailer from selling li-
quors or other things in their respective dwelling-houses or stores.

chapter 167.
An act, entitled, A further supplement to the act, entitled,
An act to establish a Bank and incorporate a Company
under the title of The Bank of Somerset.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the directors of said bank shall be bona fide residents of Somerset
county.
2. And be it enacted, That no stockholder shall be entitled to
vote on his stock unless he shall have complied with the terms of
payment called for by the president and directors, and that every
stockholder may pay upon as many shares as he pleases agreeably
to the calls so made, and shall be entitled to vote on as many
shares so paid upon, according to the scale of voting in the act to
which this is an additional supplement.

CHAPTER 168.

An act to Incorporate the Hibernian Society of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the members of the Hibernian Society of Baltimore, and all those
who shall hereafter become members, shall be and are hereby in-
corporated and created a body politic, by the name, style and title,
of "The Hibernian Society of Baltimore," and by that name shall
have continual succession, and be able and capable in law to sue
and be sued, to plead and be impleaded, in any court of record, or
elsewhere, to make, have and use a common seal, and the same at
pleasure to alter or renew; to receive donations, gifts, grants, de-
vises and bequests, or other conveyances of money, goods, chattels,
effects, lands, tenements and estates, real and personal, and the
same to hold, use, sell, or otherwise dispose of and convey: and
generally to do all such acts, matters and things, as are or shall
be necessary for the purpose of affording charitable assistance and
