CHAPTER 141.
An act Supplementary to an act for establishing a Medi-
cal and Chirurgical Society in the State of Maryland.
Whereas it is represented to this general assembly, that much
and great inconvenience is attendant on that class of the medical
faculty who have graduated;
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the censors appointed in the respective counties of this state,
shall have full power to examine the diplomas of those gentlemen
who have graduated in any respectable, medical university, and
that if on examination, those diplomas should appear genuine and
satisfactory, those gentlemen shall have, full power to practice
medicine and surgery in this state, as if application had been
made to the eastern or western shore boards.
2. And be it enacted, That all that part of the act for establish-
ing and incorporating a medical and chirurgical faculty or soci-
ety in this state, that is repugnant to, or inconsistent with this
act, be and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 142.
An act relating to Inquests held by Coroners.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That hereafter there shall be allowed the sum of fifty cents to
each juror who may serve on a coroner's inquest, and to the con-
stable who may be directed by any coroner or magistrate to sum-
mon such jury, or to the coroner if the jury be summoned by
him, the sum of twelve and one half cents for each juror, which
sums shall be collected and paid to the persons entitled thereto,
in the like manner as the fees allowed by law to such coroner.

CHAPTER 143.

An act to open and extend Pine-street in the Western
Precincts of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the street commissioners of the western precincts of Balti-
more be, and they or a majority of them are hereby authorised
and empowered, to open and extend Pine-street in the said pre-
cincts, of the width of fifty feet, in a southerly direction from
the intersection of Fayette and Pine-streets, to Baltimore-street,
and the said street, when opened and extended, and the valuation
and assessment herein after directed to be made shall have taken
place, shall be deemed and considered, and is hereby declared, a
public street and highway for ever thereafter; and the said com-
missioners, or a majority of them, are hereby directed to return
a plot ascertaining the limits and extent of that part of said
street so opened and extended, to the clerk of Baltimore county
court, who shall receive and file the same in his office.
2. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners, or a majo-
rity of them, shall, someday between the first and twentieth day
of April next, first giving ten days notice in two or more news-
papers printed in the city of Baltimore of their appointment, as
also of the time and place of meeting, which shall be on the pre-
mises, and shall then and there proceed to the duties herein af-
