Bond to be
lodged with

dollars, conditioned that they will well and truly apply so much
of the money arising therefrom, within sixty days after the draw-
ing thereof is completed, as shall satisfy the fortunate adventu-
rers for prizes drawn by them, and after deducting the necessary
expenses, within five months thereafter commence applying the
residue for the purpose of building three bridges, to wit: one
across the north branch, and one across the south branch of Po-
tomac river, near the confluence of said branches; also one
across a creek called Town Creek, in Allegany county; and the
surplus, if any, to be applied towards erecting a bridge across
Fifteen Mile Creek, or to be laid out in improving the roads, as
the said managers may think most conducive to the public good,
so that the whole money aforesaid shall be applied to the purposes
aforesaid in five years thereafter.

3. And be it enacted, That the bond so as aforesaid to be en-
tered into, be lodged with the cleric of Allegany county court,
and upon the same, or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may
be brought for any breach or non-compliance with the conditions
thereof.

CHAPTER 87.

An act authorising Townley Robey, late Sheriff and
Collector of Charles County, to complete hist collec-
tion.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said Townley Robey be, and he is hereby authorised to
collect, until the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
eighteen, all balances due him as sheriff and collector of Charles
county, in the same manner as he could or might have done with-
in the time limited by law, any law to the contrary notwith-
standing.

2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the said
Townley Robey, before he proceeds to execute or distrain the
property of any person or persons for taxes, officers fees, or public
dues, in virtue of this act, to deliver to or leave at the last place
of abode of, such person or persons, his, her or their executors
or administrators, chargeable with the same, at least thirty days
previous to the levying such execution or distress, an account,
written in words at full length, of the taxes, officers fees, or pub-
lic dues, demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit annexed
thereto, that he hath not received any part thereof, nor any
thing as security or satisfaction for the same, more than credit
given, to the best of his knowledge.

3. And be it enacted, That the said Townley Robey, before he
derives any benefit from or under this act, shall lodge his collec-
tion books in the clerk's office of Charles county, to be open for
the inspection of all persons interested in the same, and give
public notice thereof, by advertisement, to be set up at the court-
house door, and other public places in said county.
