county, a sum of money sufficient in their discretion to repair
the Bentz-town market-house, and the school room above it, not
exceeding the sum of five hundred dollars, to be paid to the trus-
tees of Bentz-town market-house, for the purpose of repairing
the market-house and school room aforesaid.

CHAPTER 83.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to Incorporate
a Company to make a Turnpike Road from the Town of
Westminster, in Frederick County, through Harman's
Gap, to Hager's-Town in Washington County.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the president, managers and company, of the Hager's-town
turnpike road company, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered, if in their discretion it be expedient, to locate or
change the present location of said turnpike road, so as to make
the said road pass through the town of Graceham, in Frederick
county, any thing in the act to which this is a supplement to the
contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 84.
. An act to authorise the Levy Court of Washington County
to provide an Office for the Clerk of said County.
Whereas it is represented by the clerk of Washington county
court, that in consequence of the decayed and ruinous condition
of the apartment of the court-house in which his records and
other papers are kept, the said papers and records are in danger
of being destroyed, and the business of his office retarded and
disturbed; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Washington county be, and they are here*,
by authorised and directed, forthwith to provide a suitable house
in Hager's-town for the reception of the records of the county,
and for the use of the clerk of the county, until the completion
of the new court-house.
2. And be it enacted, That the rent and other expenses accru-
ing upon the removal of said office, shall be paid and defrayed
by the levy court of said county, out of any unappropriated funds,
or by a levy upon the taxable property of the county.

CHAPTER 85.
A Further Additional Supplement to the act, entitled, An
act relating to the Public Roads in this State, and to re-
peal the Act of Assembly therein mentioned.
Whereas it is represented to this general assembly, that in
Allegany county the present law relating to the public roads have,
been found inconvenient and inadequate to the purposes for which
they were intended; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy court of Allegany county, at their
annual meeting for the purpose of levying the public assessment,
shall levy, by equal assessment on the assessable property within
