CHAPTER 49.

An act to confirm the Title of John Williams, of Cecil
County, to certain Lands therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the deed of conveyance from William M'Grath to Thomas
and Charles Greer, bearing date on or about the twenty-sixth
day of September, eighteen hundred and one, and the deed of
conveyance from Thomas and Charles Greer to John Williams
bearing date on or about the twenty-sixth day of September,
eighteen hundred and one, which several deeds are duly executed
acknowledged, and recorded among the land records of Cecil
county, shall have the same force and effect to vest in the said
John Williams, his heirs and assigns, a title to the said property,
as if they, the said William M'Grath and Thomas and Charles
Greer had been naturalized agreeably to the laws of the United
States at the execution of their said several deeds; Provided,
that nothing herein contained shall in any wise affect or impair
the right of any person or persons to said lands which shall have
been acquired before the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 50.

An act to appoint Isaac Mayo, of the City of Annapolis,
Trustee for the sale of certain Real Estate, therein men-
tioned.
Whereas Jonathan Waters, and Sarah Ann his wife, of the
city of Annapolis, by their petition to this general assembly, have
set forth, that they are in possession of a small part of two tracts
of land situate in Anne-Arundel county, and containing about
one hundred and forty acres, in which they hold a life-estate
only, with remainder in fee-tail to their eldest son Thomas Gas-
saway Waters, who is now a minor, about sixteen years of age,
with remainder over to the right heirs of the said Sarah Ann
Waters; that the said land and premises are in a ruinous situ-
ation, and from that and other peculiar circumstances, produc-
tive of little or no benefit to the proprietors; that it would be
more beneficial to the petitioner's, and more particularly to the
remainder-men, if the said land were sold, and the money arising
therefrom expended in the purchase of public stock, or other
permanent funds; and they have prayed that an act may pass
appointing a certain Isaac Mayo, of the city of Annapolis, a
trustee, with power to sell said land, upon such terms as to the
chancellor shall appear best calculated to promote the interest of
the infant, and other remainder-men, and to apply the proceeds
thereof to the object in their said petition set forth; which being
thought reasonable, Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Isaac Mayo, of the city of Annapolis, be and he is hereby
fully authorised and empowered, as trustee, to sell and dispose of,
after such notice, and on such terms, and cither at public or pri-
vate sale, as the chancellor may appoint and direct, all that part
of a tract or parcel of land called "Bessenden," and all that
tract or parcel of land called "Gassaway's Meadows," situate
in Anne-Arundel county, and more particularly described in a
