2. And be it enacted, That if any driver or person having
charge of any wagon, or other carriage, shall take or receive any
sum or sums of money, or goods of any description, from any
person or persons, as an inducement for selling any flour or whis-
key under the market price of the day. and not make return
thereof to the proper owner or owners of such flour or whiskey,
and the Tacts thereof being proven before any justice of the peace
in any town or county within this state, he shall pay to the per-
son injured double the amount of the sum so received, and shall
moreover pay a line not exceeding twenty and not less than five
dollars, one half of which fine to the person prosecuting for the
same, and the other half to the use of the poor of the county in
which the case is heard, to be recovered as debts of equal amount
are by law recoverable out of court.

CHAPTER 161.
A Further Supplement to the act, entitled, An act for the
Opening of Bridge Street, in the Eastern Precincts of
the City of Baltimore.
Whereas it is represented to this general assembly, by the
petition of a number of the inhabitants of the city and eastern
precincts of Baltimore, that a law passed the legislature of Ma-
ryland, in the year eighteen hundred and seven, and a supple-
ment thereto in eighteen hundred and twelve, for the removal of
a certain house, situate in Bridge-street, in the eastern pre-
cincts of Baltimore, heretofore owned by Henry Zigler of said
precincts, but latterly by John Fusselbaugh, and the said Fus-
selbaugh having died, and leaving a widow and several minor
children, and there being no provision in said acts directing the
investment of the proceeds, arising from the condemnation of
said house and lot, in such safe and productive funds as the situ-
ation of the widow and minor children of the said Fusselbaugh
may require, Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Hezekiah Prise, William Brown, Daniel Conn, James
Piper, and William Warner, be and they are. hereby appointed
commissioners, and they, or a majority of them, are hereby
vested with full power to carry into effect the provisions of the
said recited act, and the supplement thereto.
2. And be it enacted, That when the sum or sums of money
directed to be assessed by the supplement to the original act,
shall be received by the commissioners herein appointed, they
shall pay over the same to the orphans court of Baltimore coun-
ty, to be vested by them in some safe and productive stock, tor
the use and benefit of the widow and children of the said John
Fusselbaugh, in the same rights and benefits as they now hold
said house and lot.
3. And be it enacted, That so much of the said lot as may by the
said commissioners be considered unnecessary to condemn for
public streets, shall be vested in the mayor and city council of
Baltimore, for the use of the Independent Fire Engine Com-
pany, to be used and occupied by the said company for an engine
house; Provided always, that if the said Independent Fire En-
