its centre line, in the middle of the Frederick, turnpike road,
exactly at the highest point or most elevated spot of said Fred-
erick Turnpike Road, westwardly from the Culvert, just be-
yond Konig's fence, and running from the said center line of
the Calverton Turnpike the following courses, viz. north fifty
two degrees, west ninety perches; north eighty and an half de-
grees, west eleven perches; north fifty six and a quarter de-
grees, west five perches nine links; north forty five degrees,
west five perches thirteen links; north thirty three and a quar-
ter degrees, eleven perches eleven links to the center of the
abutment of the bridge building by said company over Gwynn's
run, the said road occupying a space for breadth, of twenty
five feet on each side of the said center line, so as to make the
same in the whole fifty feet broad; which said short courses de-
parting from the aforesaid straight line of north fifty two de-
grees, west ninety perches, the said James Carroll may hereaf-
ter with the consent of said company, if he see fit, reduce to one
line by carrying forward and continuing the said ninety perch
line to the bridge aforesaid, the said Carroll reserving to him-
self and his assigns the right of quarrying any stone which
may be left within the lines of the said Calverton Turnpike
east of the said short courses, and above the grade of the said
road after the said company have stoned the same, from the
Frederick Turnpike to the lands of Dennis A. Smith.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said proprietors of
the said live mill seats or mills, their heirs and successors be,
and they are hereby incorporated a body politic, by the name
and style of The President and Managers of the Calverton
Turnpike Road, and by the same name the said proprietors
and their successors shall have succession during the continu-
ance of this incorporation, and shall have all the privileges and
franchises of or incident to a corporation, with power to make
such by laws for the regulation of all matters and things as
may relate to the said turnpike road, and also to sue and be
sued, answer and be answered, to make a seal and alter and re-
new the same, according to their will and pleasure; Provided
nevertheless, that the powers vested in the said company by
this act of incorporation shall not extend to any other object
than the said road, and providing for keeping the same in good
repair; And provided also, that the owner or joint owners of
each mill or mill seat, shall be deemed to be the owner of one
fifth part of the stock or capital of said turnpike road compa-
ny, and that the owner or joint owners of each of the said
mills or mill seats shall have one vote at all the meetings of said
company, either for choosing officers or for the transaction of
any other business, which the said company may be competent
to do under this act, and it is hereby expressly declared that
the qualification to vote at all such meetings shall vest in the
owner or joint owners of said mills or mill seats or their attor-
ney duly authorised, and that if any of the said owners shall
at any time hereafter sell or otherwise dispose of their interest
in any of said mills or mill seats, his her or their right to said
road shall thereupon cease and become the right and interest
of his, her or their successor.
6. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said company shall
on the first Monday in April next, and on the first Monday in
April in each and every year there slier, meet at the upper mill
