Compensation.

Proceeds.

ENACTED, That no sale made by the trustee aforesaid by
virtue of this act, shall be good and valid until the same be ap-
proved of by the orphan's court aforesaid; and in case such
sale shall be rejected by the said court, the said trustee shall
proceed to sell again and so, from time to time until such sale
shall be approved of by the said orphan's court.
8. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustee shall
be entitled to such sum or sums of money for his expences and
trouble that he may necessarily be put. to in performance of the
duties required by him to be done under this act, as the or-
phan's court of Baltimore county shall think proper to allow
him.

4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said orphan's
court are hereby authorised empowered and directed, to have tie
proceeds of said sale after deducting expences, invested in
some safe and productive fund for the benefit of the heirs of the
said David Gemmill.

CHAPTER 38.

An act to confirm and make valid the deed therein mentioned
from Henry H. Brown, to Matthias Hammond.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the deed from Henry H. Brown to Matthias
Hammond of Anne-Arundel county, bearing date on or about
the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
fifteen, and acknowledged before two justices of the peace of
the county of Alexandria in the District of Columbia (the said
deed not having been acknowledged and recorded agreeably
to the laws of this state,) be and the same is hereby confirmed
and made as valid and effectual in law to all intents and purpos-
es whatsoever, as if the said deed had been acknowledged and
recorded in strict conformity with all the provisions of the
laws of this state, relating to the conveyance of the real and
personal property situate and being therein; Provided never-
theless, that the said deed shall on or before the first day of
March next be duly enrolled in the land records of Anne-
Arundel county, and of the court of appeals for the western
shore of this state; and the clerk of the county court
of Anne-Arundel county, and the clerk of the said court of
appeals are hereby authorised and directed, to receive the said
deed at any time previous to the above mentioned limited day,
and record the same amongst the land records of their respec-
tive offices, and they shall note respectively at the foot of the
enrollment of the said deed, that the same is received and re-
corded in pursuance of the directions of this act, and endorse a
similar certificate on the said deed; And provided also, that
nothing herein contained shall bar any person or persons who
may have just claims against the said Henry H. Brown, ante-
cedent to the date of said deed, or who now are or may hereaf-
ter be interested in the premises, from contesting the validity
of the said deed, for or on account of any fraud or imposition
which may have been practised in obtaining the execution or
acknowledgment thereof
