Susanna Eichelberger, Mary Barnitz, widow of one of the ex-
ecutors of Michael Barnitz, Samuel White the other executor
of the said Michael, all of the State of Pennsylvania, John
Barnitz, Charles Barnitz, and Anna Maria Barnitz, also of the
said State of Pennsylvania, minors under the age of twenty one
years, and the children, devisees, and heirs at law of the said
Michael, William Pinkney, June of the city of Baltimore, and
Jane B. Pinkney his wife, and Henry Hammond of the said ci-
ty, which said Jane and Henry are under the age of twenty one
years, and are the children of John Hammond late of the said
city deceased, by Eliza his last wife, Robert Cacy of the said
city, who hath intermarried with the said Eliza and is the guar-
dian of the said Jane and Henry, Eliza Casey, the mother of
the said Jane and Henry Richard Stuart, Luke Tiernan, Fran,
cis D. M'Henry, James W. Collins, William Buchanan, John
Haslip, Rachel Stewart, John Essendor and Sarah Thompson,
all of the said city and holders of lots or parts of lots in the
said city, under leases made by Catharine Barnitz, that in cer-
tain actions of ejectment brought in the circuit court of the.
United States for the District of Maryland, by the lessee of
Daniel Barnitz and others against Robert Casey and others,
to recover the possession of certain lots in the said city, for-
merly belonging to Daniel Barnitz the elder, and after his death
claimed and held by Catharine Barnitz his widow, under and
in virtue of the last will and testament of the said Daniel, a
compromise upon terms particularly stated in a paper filed in
the said actions of the last session of the said court, of which a
copy has been exhibited with the said petition, was made by
the advice of counsel on both sides, and in substantial confor-
mity with the opinion of the supreme court of the United
States, pronounced in a former action at the suit of, the lessee
of the same parties, but that as some of the. persons to be af-
fected by the said compromise are under age, an act of this
General Assembly is necessary to give full effect to it, and the
petitioners have therefore prayed that such an act may be pass-
ed; and it appears to this General Assembly that the prayer of
the said petitioners is just and proper; Therefore,
Sec 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said compromise be, and the same is here-
by confirmed, and rendered valid and efficacious to all intents
and purposes, and that all acts and deeds of what kind soever
done or made, or to be done or made in execution of the same,
shall be good and sufficient in law and equity, notwithstanding
the minority or other incapacity of any of the parties.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said William Pink
ney, Junr. and Jane B. Pinkney his wife, and the said Henry
Hammond and the aforesaid children of Michael Barnitz, be
and they are hereby enabled to make, execute and acknowledge
all such releases or other conveyances, and assurances as may
be required by, or necessary to the complete execution of the
said compromise, as fully and absolutely, and in the like man-
ner and form as if the said Jane B. Pinkney and Henry Ham-
mond and the said children of Michael Barnitz were all of the
age of twenty one years, and capable in law to make, excecute
and acknowledge the same; and the said releases; conveyan-
ces and assurances, and whatever else may be done to effectuate the
terms and purposes of the said compromise, shall be available
in all respects, and shall give a firm and indissoluble title against
