CHAPTER 167.
An act declaring the continuation and extension of the char-
ters of the several banks therein mentioned.
WHEREAS the president, directors and company of the
Bank of Baltimore, the president and directors of the Union
Bank of Maryland, the president, directors and company of the
Farmers Bank of Maryland, the president and directors of the
Mechanics Bank of Baltimore, the president, directors and
company of the Marine Bank of Baltimore, the president and
directors of the Franklin Bank of Baltimore, the president and
directors of the Commercial and Farmers Bank of Baltimore,
the president and directors of the Farmers and Merchants
Bank of Baltimore, the president and directors of the Farmers
Bank of Somerset and Worcester, the president and directors
of the Cumberland Bank of Alleghany, the president, directors
and company of the City Bank of Baltimore, the president, di-
rectors and company of the Hagers Town Bank, the Bank of
Somerset, the Conococheague Bank, and the president and di-
rectors of the Bank of Caroline, have transmitted to the exe-
cutive of this state certificates of their determination to agree
to and accept of the renewal of their charters upon the terms
and conditions prescribed by an act, entitled a supplement to
the act entitled, an act to incorporate a company to make a
turnpike road leading to Cumberland, and for the extension of
the charters of the several banks in the city of Baltimore and
for other purposes, passed at December session one thousand
Bight hundred and thirteen; Therefore,
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the charters of, or the several acts of assem-
bly incorporating the above mentioned banks, be and the same
hereby are continued and extended to the first day of January
one thousand eight hundred and thirty five, and to the end of
the session of the General Assembly next thereafter; Provide
ed, that, nothing herein contained shall be construed to release
the said banks from the compliance with the terms and condi-
tions prescribed in the act of assembly, entitled a supplement
to the act entitled, an act to incorporate a company to make a
turnpike road leading to Cumberland, and for the extension of
the charters of the several, banks in the city of Baltimore, and
for other purposes; passed at December session eighteen hun-
dred and thirteen, chapter one hundred and twenty two.

Benefit ex-
tended.

CHAPTER 168.
An act extending the benefit of the insolvent laws to certain pe-
titioners therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Joseph Bruff, Benjamin Bruff, John M'Kell,
Joshua Dunmitt, John S. Williams, Peter Miller, John Bates,
Thomas Elliott, William Roston, Robert M Gill, Joshua F.
Batchelor, John Hosselboch, George A. Bowerson, William
Burke, Levin Jones, Samuel A Kempton, Middleton B. Mag.
ruder, Benjamin C. Calhoon, and William G. M'Clure of Bal-
timore county shall be, and each of them are hereby entitled to
receive the full benefit of and final release under the act entit-
