CHAPTER 144.
An act to incorporate a company under the name of The Not-
tingham Library Company.
Sec 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That James Gillispie, Job Haines and Hugh Beard,
or & majority of them be, and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners, at such time and after such notice as they or a ma-
jority of them shall think proper, at La Belle Alliance, to open
books and receive subscriptions for two hundred shares of five
dollars each, as the capital stock of the said company, to be
paid one half at the time of subscribing, the other half on the
day of election of the managers and directors herein after men-
tioned.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That so soon as the whole
number of shares shall be subscribed for, the said commission-
ers or a majority of them shall give notice thereof, by setting
up public advertisements throughout the county of Cecil, and
in the town of La Belle Alliance, and appoint a day for the
election of five managers and directors, to be elected by ballot
of the stockholders, such share entitled to one vote.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all persons who shall
become subscribers to the said slock, their successors and as-
signs shall be, and they are hereby made a corporation and bo-
dy politic, by the name and style of The Nottingham Library
Company, and by that name shall be and are hereby made able
and capable in law to sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded,
answer and be answered, defend and be defended, in any court
of record or any other place whatever.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the officers of the said
company be governed by such rules and regulations as the said
managers and directors, and their successors or a majority of
them shall from time to time think proper to adopt.
5. AND BEIT ENACTED, That the said managers and
directors be chosen annually from among the stockholders,
who may be re elected as often as the stockholders shall think
proper, and to hold their seats until superseded by the election
of other managers and directors.

CHAPTER 145.
An act to authorise the sale of certain real estate held by
Joseph B. M'Kean, in trust for the children of Andrew
Buchanan deceased.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Joseph B. M'Kean of Pennsylvania, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to sell at public or pri-
vate sale all the right, title, interest and claim of Susan Bucha-
nan, Mary Buchanan, Thomas M'Kean Buchanan and Anne
Buchanan, minors, the only children of Andrew Buchanan,
late of Baltimore county deceased, in and to all those parts of
lot number thirty six, being part of a tract of land called She-
ridine's Discovery, lying in Baltimore county, the same parts
being now known by the name of M'Keans Gift, containing
seven acres, one rod and two and a half perches, and particu-
larly described in a deed executed by Thomas M'Kean to Jo-
seph M'Kean, on the fourteenth day of July one thousand eight
hundred and eight, and recorded among the land records of
