CHAPTER 130.
An act authorising the sale of certain property therein men-
tioned.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the orphan's court of Charles county shall
have full power and authority upon the application of Charity
Dent of said county, widow and administratrix of a certain
Henry Dent, on behalf of herself and two infant children, and
being satisfied that it will promote the interest of the said wi-
dow and children, to order the sale of a certain tract of land
called St. Mark Enlarged, containing about one hundred and
seven acres, which was purchased by the said Henry Dent of
a certain Walter S. Chandler, a short time previous to his death,
lying in Charles county, upon such terms as the said orphan's
court shall think proper, and to authorise the said Charity
Dent to effect such sale.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That any sale made by the
authority of the orphan's court of said county under this act,
shall be notified to and confirmed by the orphan's court afore-
said, before the conveyance of the property aforesaid shall be
made, and bond with good and sufficient security in the name
of the State of Maryland, to be approved by the orphan's
court of said county, shall be given by the said Charity Dent
when empowered to sell the said tract of land as aforesaid, for
the due execution of the trust committed to her, which bond
shall be lodged with the register of wills for the county afore-
said, and shall be recorded and be subject to be put in suit by
any person interested therein, in the same manner as adminis-
tration bonds now are.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Charity Dent
shall account for the money arising from the sale of the said
tract of land, and pay it over in such manner, and for such
purposes as the orphan's court aforesaid shall direct and order.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That any conveyance or
deed made by the said Charity Dent pursuant to the directions
of the orphan's court aforesaid, shall and is hereby declared to
be valid and effectual in law, to pass and convey all the right,
title and interest, both at law and equity, of the said Charity
Dent and her two infant children, to wit, Thomas Samuel
Dent, and Henry Storer Dent, widow and children of Henry
Dent, deceased, in and to the premises aforesaid to the purchas-
er or purchasers of the same under this act, and the orphan's
court aforesaid shall allow to the said trustee, such sum of mo-
ney out of the proceeds of said sale, for the execution of said
trust as to them may seem equitable and just.
