tice of the payments so required in two of the news papers of
the city of Baltimore, and in one of the news papers in Fred-
crick Town and Hager's Town.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said president and
managers shall procure certificates for all the shares of stock
subscribed as aforesaid, and shall deliver one such certificate,
signed by the president and countersigned by the treasurer,
and sealed with the common seal of the said company, to each
person for every share, by him or her subscribed and held, he
or she having paid to the persons authorised to receive the
same, twenty dollars for each share, and the said shares shall
be transferable in the same manner as stock created under the
act to which this is a supplement; and the said subscribers and
their assignees, upon complying with the requisites of this act,
shall become members of the said corporation, and shall he en-
titled to the same immunities and privileges as the holders of
stock under the act to which this is a supplement.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That if any stockholder
shall neglect to pay the instalments due on his shares for the
space of thirty days after the time appointed by the said presi-
dent and managers for the payment thereof, every such stock-
holder, his or their assignee, shall in addition to the payments
so called far, pay at the rate of five per cent per month tor de-
lay of such payment, and if the same, and the said additional
penalty, shall remain unpaid for such space of time as that the
accumulated penalties shall become equal to the sums before
paid in part on account of such share or shares, the same shall
be forfeited to the said company, and may and shall be sold
and assigned by the president and managers of the said compa-
ny to any person willing to purchase the same, for such price
as can be obtained for the same; and the purchaser or purchas-
ers aforesaid shall have all the benefit and advantage of such
assignment and purchase, as if he, she or they had been an
original stockholder or stockholders.

CHAPTER 126.
A supplement to the act entitled, an act to authorise and em-
power the Levy Court of Charles County to assess and levy
a sum of money on the assessable property thereof, for the
purpose of building a jail in said county.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners appointed by the act to
which this is a supplement, or a majority of them, shall be
and they are hereby authorised and required to collect immedi-
ately all such sum or sums of money as are or were raised or
levied under the provisions of the aforesaid act, and such sum
or sums when so collected shall be applied to the building of a
court house, which shall be erected on the public ground in.
Charles Town, commonly called Port Tobacco, in Charles coun-
ty, and when erected, finished and completed shall be used,
held taken and deemed to be the proper court house of Charles
county.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commission-
ers are hereby empowered and directed to proceed as soon as
practicable, in the accomplishment of this work, and they are
hereby vested with all powers necessary for this purpose.
3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the additional sum of
