CHARLES RIDGELY, (of Hampton) Esq. Governor.

of North America, but then residing in the city of Ghent, in
the department of the Scheld in Belgium, for conveying certain
lands and tenements lying in Prince George's county in the
State of Maryland, and sundry lots of ground lying in the
town of Bladensburgh in said county, to Rosalie Eugenie Cal-
vert, of said county, and acknowledged by the said Charles
John Stier and Eugene Catharine Philippine Jeanne Van Ert-
born, wife to the said Charles John Stier, before Jean Debbart
and J. Didekin, justices of the peace of the city of Ghent in
Belgium, and certified by Charles Vaughendt, notary public, be
and the same is hereby declared to be valid and effectual to
convey all the estate which the said Charles John Stier had in
the said lands, lots of ground and premises mentioned in said
deed and intended thereby to be conveyed, and to vest the
right thereto in the said Rosalie Eugene Calvert, her heirs and
assigns as fully and effectually as if the said deed had been
executed and acknowledged in Prince George's county afore-
said, in the manner prescribed by law; Provided, the same be
recorded among the land records of Prince George's county
within six months from the passage of this act.


CHAPTER 111.
An act for the relief of Nicholas Boswell of Montgomery
County.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the levy court of Montgomery county be,
and are hereby authorised and empowered at their next meet-
ing, to adjust the claim of Nicholas Boswell of said county,
for building the abutment to the bridge across the river Patux-
ent, generally called Snell's Bridge, and to assess and levy
such sum of money as they may think sufficient to pay for the
erecting of said abutment, on the assessable property of said
county, and that the same be collected by the collector of. the
county, and by him paid to the said Nicholas Boswell or or-
der.

CHAPTER 112.

An act for the benefit of Henny Hicks of Anne-Arundel
County.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the. General Assembly of
Maryland, That all the fight, title, interest and claim which the
State of Maryland hath or may have in and to a house and lot
in the city of Annapolis, being part of lot number sixty seven,
late the property of John Hicks, (a free man of colour) de-
ceased, be and the same is hereby released and relinquished to
Henny Hicks (a free woman of colour,) and her heirs,
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the executors of Ro-
bert Peter deceased, or other person or persons legally autho-
rised to convey the estate, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to convey and transfer in fee simple to the said
Henny Hicks and her heirs, all the right, title, interest and es-
tate by the said executors sold or contracted to be sold to John
Hicks deceased, of in and to the above mentioned house and
lot in case the purchase money hath been or shall be paid there-
for; Provided nevertheless, that the said house or lot shall be
liable for and subject to the payment of the debts if any due
and owing by the said John Hicks, in case of the insufficiency
, of the personal estate left by him.
