Swearingen register the said negro boy named Dennis, in
Washington county court, in the same manner as he by
law would have been compelled to do had he have brought
the said negro boy Dennis into this state within one year
after his removal from Virginia as aforesaid.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing herein
contained shall be construed to enable the said Isaac S.
Swearingen to sell or dispose of said negro boy, until he
shall have resided within this state three whole years after
the passage of this act, except in cases of disposition by
last will and testament, and disposition by law for bona
fide debts, or consequent upon in testacy.

A further supplement to the act passed at November ses-
sion seventeen hundred and ninety-five, chapter twen-
ty seven, entitled " An act to establish a bank and in-
corporate the subscribers thereto."
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That any number of directors not less than
five, shall constitute a board of the said bank for the
purpose of making discounts only.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That each stock-holder
having two shares in the said bank, shall be entitled to
one vote for each share; and any stock-holder having
more than two shares shall be entitled to such number of
votes as is authorized by the act to which this is a supple-
ment.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That in case of debts
due to the said bank, the president, directors and com-
pany shall be justified in taking any kind of security for
the same; and that all debts which may hereafter become
due to the said bank by a stock holder offering to trans-
fer his stock, must be discharged before such transfer
shall be made.

CHAPTER 10.
An act to incorporate the Baltimore Beneficial Society.
WHEREAS, William Kesley, James Chalmers, Wil-
liam R. Glasgow, Samuel Krebs, Jacob Deems, Alex-
ander Yearly, William P. Mills, John Bangs and others,
have formed themselves into a society for the laudable
purpose of affording relief to each other and their res-
pective families, in the event of sickness, distress and
death, and have prayed an act of incorporation, that they
may the better execute their intentions, and the legisla-
ture being desirous of promoting such useful instituti-
one: Therefore,
