debts and sell the said land, and she hath prayed that
an act may pass authorising the sale of the same—
Therefore.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Thomas H. Bowie, of the City
of Annapolis, be and he is hereby authorised and fully
empowered as trustee to sell and dispose of a public sale,
after such notice, and on such terms and conditions as
the chancellor may approve and direct, all the land pur-
chased by the late deceased George N. Ford of the said
Thomas H. Bowie, as trustee, under a decree of the court
of chancery, lying in Anne Arundel county, known by
the name of Part of Hampton Court, or by whatever
name the same may be called or known, as to the chan-
cellor shall appear best calculated to promote the interest
of the heirs of the said deceased, and the same when sold
and on the payment of the whole purchase money and
not before, to make over and convey by good and suffi-
cient deed or deeds to the purchaser or purchasers there,
of; and the money arising therefrom, after defraying
all legal and necessary expences of such sale, to apply as
follows, to wit: to payoff and discharge the amount of
the debt due from the said deceased George N. Ford, to
the said Thomas H. Bowie, for the purchase of the said
land, and the balance if any, to pay over to the said Ma-
ry Ford, administratrix of the said George N. Ford, de-
ceased, to be by her applied under the direction of the or-
phans court of Charles county, towards the payment of
the debts of the said deceased, so far as the same may
extend for that purpose, and the residue if any, after pay-
ing the debts of the said deceased, to distribute under the
direction of the orphans' court, among the legal represen-
tative of the said deceased.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That before the said
trustee shall make sale of the said land, he shall file
with the register of the court of chancery, a bond in such
penalty, and with such security, as shall be approved by
the chancellor, conditioned for the faithful performance
of the trust reposed in him, by this act; and the said
trustee, shall be allowed out of the proceeds of the sale
to be by him made of the land aforesaid, such a sum as
the chancellor shall think a just compensation for the ser-
vices to be by him performed as trustee aforesaid.

CHAPTER 45.

An act to lay out and make, public a road in Cecil county.
SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That James Beard, Thomas White and
James Gil1espie of Cecil county, be and they are hereby
appointed commissioners for the purposes of this act,
and that they, or a majority of them, are hereby author-
ised and required to survey and lay out a road, not ex-
ceeding thirty feet wide, clear of ditches, beginning on
the road lending from Peach-Bottom Ferry to Christianna
