county, hearing date on the fourteenth day, of October, if
the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, the
execution of which said power of attorney was proved
before the American commercial agent at Nantz, in the
Kingdom of France, be and the same hereby is declared
to be good and effectual in law to authorised David Win-
chester and William Winchester, thereby appointed at-
tornies of the said Toussaint F. V. Caharel, to acknow-
ledge the deed aforesaid according to law, in the same
manner as if the proof of the execution of the said pow-
er of attorney had been made agreeably to the provisions
of the act of assembly in force on that subject.

CHAPTER 127.
An act for the relief of the children of Thomas Little-
ford late of Prince George's county.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the levy court of Prince George's
county be, and are hereby authorised so long as they
shall see cause, to levy on the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding one hundred
dollars, to be applied under the direction of said court,
towards the support and maintenance of the children of
the late Thomas Littleford, or of such of them as the
said court may consider proper objects to be supported
out of the poor house of said county.

CHAPTER 128.
An act for the aid of the library company of Baltimore.
Sec. 1. BE IT ENACTED By the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Samuel Sterett, Robert Gilmor, jr. Ni-
cholas Brice, Robert Goodloe Harper, John Hoffman,
Doctor Ashton Alexander, Richard Caton, Jonathan
Meredith, and Doctor John B. Davidge, or a majority
of them be, and they are hereby authorised to raise by
way of a lottery or lotteries a sum of money not exceeding
thirty thousand dollars over and above all expenses and
commissions allowed on sales of tickets and in draw-
ing said lottery or lotteries, for the purpose of purchas-
ing a convenient lot, and erecting thereon a suitable buil-
ding for the use of the library company of Baltimore,
and that the said managers or such person or persons as
a majority of them shall authorise, may sell the tickets in
such lottery or lotteries in the city of Baltimore, or in
any part of this state free from any tax thereon.

duct the said lotteries shall die, resign or refuse to act,
