Negro to be
registered.

the same manner that he might or could have done at
the time of his removal into this state, any law to the
contrary notwithstanding.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Richard
Lawrence register the said negro in Baltimore county
court, in the same manner as he by law would have been
compelled to do, had he brought him info this state with-
in one year alter his removal from Delaware as aforesaid.

Sale of said
negro.

S. AND BE IT ENACTED, That nothing herein
contained shall be construed to enable the said Richard
Lawrence to sell or dispose of said slave, until he shall
have resided within this state throe whole years after the
passage of this act, except in cases of disposition by last
will and testament, and disposition by law for bona-fide
debts or consequent upon intestacy.

An act for the relief of Susan Rouse, of Caroline coun-
ty.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Caroline county be, and they are hereby authorised and
directed to assess and levy on the assessable property of
said county, so long as they shall see cause, a sum of
money not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and
maintenance of Susan Rouse; and that the same he col-
lected and paid annually to the aforesaid Susan Rouse or
her order, by the collector of said county, agreeably to
the order of the levy court aforesaid.

CHAPTER 89.

Chancellor
may appoint.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act authorising the
sale of the real estate of Ruth Howard deceased,
wife of Thomas W. Howard, and for other purposes.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the chancellor be, and he is
hereby authorised and empowered to appoint in addi-
tion to Thomas W. Howard such persons as shall be re-
commended by four of the nearest male relations on the
mother's side of Susan Ann Howard, who shall reside in
this state, any thing to the contrary in the said act to which
this is a supplement notwithstanding.

An act for the relief of Nicholas Hall, of Frederick
county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Edward Owings, Senr. Ed Bra-
shears, Jesse Wright, Samuel Hobbs, (of Saml.) and
Benjamin Murdock be, and they are hereby appointed
commissioners for the purposes of this act, and that they
or a majority of them be, and they are hereby authorised
