3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the orphans' court
of Cecil county shall appoint three persons of sound
judgment and discretion as commissioners, who shall
estimate the sum proper to be paid to said Richard Sim-
pers for the right and privileges aforesaid, and make a
return of such estimate under their hands and seals to the
said orphans court, and if the same exceed fifteen Hun-
dred dollars, the said William Hollingsworth shall pay the
amount of such estimate as the consideration money
for such right and privilege.

4 AND BE IT ENACTED, That the money to
be paid as aforesaid shall under the direction of the said
orphans' court he invested in stock in one of the incorpo-
rated banks of this state, in the name of said Richard
Simpers, so to remain until he shall arrive at the age of
twenty one years; and if he shall die before the age of
twenty one years, the stock aforesaid shall belong to the
person or persons who shall inherit or become entitled
to the land, through which the mill race aforesaid is in-
tended to be made.

An act supplementary to an act entitled, an act to incor-
porate the Washington Cotton Manufacturing Compa-
ny of the city of Baltimore.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the capital stock of the Wash-
ington Cotton Manufacturing Company of the city of
Baltimore, consisting of one thousand shares of fifty
dollars each, shall be encreased to two thousand shares,
of fifty dollars each, which additional shares may be dis-
posed of in such proportions, at such times and in such
manner as is provided by the third section of the act to
which this is a supplement, and that the property real,
personal and mixed held by the said institution, may be
extended so as not to exceed three hundred thousand dol-
lars.

and directors aforesaid be, and are hereby authorized
and empowered, to carry on any other branch or branch-
es of manufacturing, in addition to the manufacturing

CHAPTER 87.
An act for the benefit of Richard Lawrence.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the said Richard Lawrence
be, and he is hereby authorised and empowered at any
time within twelve months after the passage of this act,
to remove and bring into this state, his negro man called
Joshua, that he now has a bona-fide absolute right to, in
