CHAPTER 11.

An act for the benefit of John Fussitt, of Worcester
county.

A sum to be
levied for his
maintenance.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the Levy Court of
Worcester county, shall, and they are hereby directed
and empowered, at their Levy Court annually, so long
as they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable pro-
perty of said county, a sum of money not exceeding forty
dollars, for the support and maintenance of John Fassitt,
of said county; and the name, when collected, Khali be
paid by the collector, to the said John Fassitt, or his or-
der, for the purpose aforesaid.

CHAPTER 12.

Passed Dec.
22, 1813.

Deed shall be

valid.

An act for the relief of Margaret Griffith, of Frederick
Town, in Frederick county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the deed of conveyance for part
of a lot in Frederick Town, from Henry Garnhart to
Richard Griffith, both of Frederick county, which appears
to have been executed on the twenty-fourth day of Au-
gust, in the year seventeen hundred and ninety-two, and
duly recorded among the land records of the said county,
shall be as valid and operative, to all intents and pur-
poses, both in law and in equity, as it would or might
have been, if the said Richard Griffith, at the time of the
execution of the said deed, had been a naturalized citi-
zen of the United States, competent in law to acquire a
complete right to real property in this state.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the title to the
said property devised by the said Richard Griffith, de-
ceased, to his wife Margaret Griffith, of Frederick Town,
aforesaid, shall be, and the same is hereby confirmed to
the said Margaret Griffith, her heirs or assigns, to be va-
lid and complete, according to Hie terms of the said de-
Arise, as it would or might have been, if a legal right and
title thereto, had been vested in the said Richard Grif-
fith, by virtue of the deed aforesaid.

CHAPTER 13.

Passed Dec.
1813.

Academy shall
be founded.

and privileges.

An act to incorporate the Buckingham Academy, in
Worcester county.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That there shall be founded a school
or seminary of learning, in Buckingham Hundred, in
Worcester county, under such regulations and restric-
tions, as are hereinafter prescribed, which shall be known
by the name of The Buckingham Academy.
2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said school
shall be under the direction and management of Thomas
S. Fassitt, Thomas N. Williams, George W. Purnell,
