said slaves are brought into the said county, to be re-
corded at the expense of him the said Vincent: And pro-
vided also, that the said Vincent shall not sell or dispose
of the said slaves or any of them, or of any of their is-
sue, until they shall have been residents for three years
within this state, except in cases of disposition by last
will and testament, and disposition by law for bona fide
debts or consequent upon intestacy.

CHAPTER 60.

1813.

An act for the relief of Ann and Mary Cheswick, daugh-
ters of Anne Strong of Saint Mary's county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the Levy Court of
Saint Mary's county, shall and they are hereby empow-
ered at their levy court annually, so long as they shall
see cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property
of said county, a sum of money not exceeding sixty dol-
tars, for the support and maintenance of the said Ann
and Mary Chewsick, daughters of the said Ann Strong,
and that the same be collected annually by the collector
of Saint Mary's county, and by him paid to the said Ann

Strong or her order.

An act for the relief of Nelly White, of Worcester coun-
ty.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court
of Worcester county be, and they are hereby empower-
ed to assess and levy on the assessable property of
said county, annually, so long as they shall see cause,
a sum of money not exceeding thirty dollars, for the
support and maintenance of Nelly White, and that the
same be collected annually by the collector of Worces-
ter county, and paid to the said Nelly White, or to her
order.

An act to authorise Gustavus Robert Alexander Brown,
and Caroline his wife of Prince William county in the
state of Virginia, to convey certain property in the pre-
cincts of Baltimore city in Baltimore county.
WHEREAS Gustavus Robert Alexander Brown,
and Caroline his wife, by their petition have set forth,
that the said Caroline is the daughter and devisee of
Jean Francois Esmenard, late of Baltimore county de-
ceased, that she is entitled under the will of her father,
(whereof the said Gustavus R. A. Brown is sole execu-
tor,) to three acres and some perches of land in the pre-
cincts of the city of Baltimore, purchased by her father
and conveyed to him in fee by Thomas and Josiah Rut-
