slaves into the
state.

Proviso.

CHAPTER 41.

An act supplementary to an act passed at November ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and eleven, entitled, An act au-
thorising Elizabeth Luckett, of Frederick county, to
remove certain negroes into the state of Maryland.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the said Elizabeth Luckett,
is hereby authorised and empowered at any time within
twelve months after the passage of this act, to remove
and bring into this state the negro slaves mentioned and
described in the act to which this is a supplement, or any
of them and their issue, according to the terms and pro-
visions of the said original act: Provided, that nothing
herein contained shall be construed to interfere with, or
affect the rights of any person or persons acquired be-
fore the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 42.

1, 1814.

Levy court to
lay off streets,
&c.

An act to empower the Levy Court of Worcester county,
to lay off and appropriate part of the warehouse lot
in New Town, as a public street.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
ly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Worcester county, before they shall proceed to sell the
ware-house and public ground on which it stands in
New Town, in said county, under the provision of the
act of assembly, passed at the last November session,
entitled, an act to empower the levy court of Worcester
county to sell the ware-houses in said county, be, and
they, or a majority of them, are hereby authorised and
empowered, if it shall appear necessary, to lay off and
appropriate so much of the public ground aforesaid, as
a public street or streets, as the said justices or a major-
ity of them may deem the convenience of the inhabitants
of the said town, and the public may require

CHAPTER 43.

Levy of 30 dol-
lars for his
support.

An act for the benefit of Alexander Malcum, infant
child of Alexander Malcum, deceased, of Caroline
county.

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Caroline county be, and they are hereby authorised and
directed, at their next sitting, and at their session in
every year thereafter, for the term of eight years, if the
said Alexander Malcum lives so long, to levy on the as-
sessable property of Caroline county, a sum of money
not exceeding thirty dollars, to be collected as other
county charges are, and paid over unto Nathan Whit-
by, of Caroline county, or to his order, for the main-
tenance of the said Alexander Malcum.
