An act for the relief of Isaac Baker of Calvert county,
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That the justices of the levy
court of Calvert county be, and they are hereby em-
powered and directed at their levy court annually, to
assess and levy a sum of money not exceeding thirty
dollars, on the assessable property of said county, for,
the, support and maintenance of Isaac Baker, to be col-
lected as other county charges are, and paid to the said
Isaac Baker or his order.

Preamble.
|
An act authorising Benjamin Leach, late collector of
Calvert county, to complete his collection.
WHEREAS it is represented to this General As-
sembly, by the petition of Benjamin Leach late collector
of Calvert county, that from various causes therein set
forth, he has not been able to complete his collection
within the time limitted, and that there is still duo to
him as collector of said county considerable sums of
money, and praying that a law may pass to enable him
to. collect the same; Therefore,

Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the said "Benjamin Leach be,
and he is hereby authorised to collect until the first day
of January eighteen hundred and fifteen, all balances
due him as collector of Calvert county for the year eigh-
teen hundred and twelve, in the same manner as he
could or might have done within the time limitted by
law, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be the
duty of the said benjamin Leach, before be proceeds to
execute or distrain the property of any pert on or per-
sons for taxes or public dues in virtue of this act, to de-
liver to such person or persons, chargeable with the
same at least thirty days previous to levying such exe-
cution or distress, an account written in words at full
length, of the taxes demanded of him, her or them,
with an affidavit annexed if required, that he hath not
received any part thereof, nor any thing as security of
satisfaction for the same, more than credit given, to the
best of his knowledge.
