every day that the board of commissioners sit upon the
business of the said town, to be paid to him or them out
of the funds of the said corporation; but if the said com-
missioners be called to view and determine upon the lim-
its or boundaries of any lot or lots in the said town, or
in the additions thereto, or any of them, then the party
or parties by whom they are so called upon to act, shall
pay to each commissioner so acting for hit trouble, the
sum of one dollar per day.

12. AND BE IT EN ACTED, That the ordinances
and proceedings of the said commissioners shall, by their
clerk, be entered in a book to be by him kept for that pur-
pose; shall be signed by the moderator for the time being
and be countersigned by the clerk, and shall be open at
all times to the inspection of any person; and all ordi-
nances shall be published at least once in some German
and some English paper printed in the said town, that
the same may be known and made public.

13. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, shall have power to re-
gulate by ordinance, from time to time, as public util-
ity may in their opinion require, the market in Hager's-
Town, appoint an inspector of the said market, assign
to him his duties, and allow to him, out of the funds of
the said town, a reasonable salary, such as will compen-
sate his services, and enable him to repair and render
convenient the benches around the said Market-house;
and may authorise him, under their controul and direc-
tion, to rent out, for the benefit of the corporation, the
butcher's stalls in, and the benches in and about the said
market-house; and the said commissioners, or a majority
of them, shall have power by ordinances, to direct and
provide for the levelling and paving the streets, alleys
and foot ways in the said town and its additions, or any
of them; to graduate the said streets and alleys, and di-
rect repairs upon them when they, or a majority of them
think such repairs necessary; to cause bridges or cul-
verts to be made over the waters or hollows in the said
town or its additions, or any of them, where they, or a
majority of them may deem such necessary; to compel
owners or occupiers of improved or unimproved lots in
the said town, or its additions, or any of them, to pave
