persons as they, or a majority of them, may think pro-
per, to be a teacher or teachers of the said school.

Examination
of students.

6. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said trustees,
and their successors, or a majority of them, shall meet at
least twice in each year, at such time as shall be appointed
by their own ordinances, in order to examine the pro-
gress of the students and scholars, and to hear and deter-
mine on all complaints and appeals, and all matters touch-
ing the discipline of the seminary, and the good and whole-
some execution of their ordinances; on all which occasi-
ons, a majority at least of the trustees shall compose a
quorum.

Where to be
erected.

7. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the Buckingham
Academy, shall he fixed and erected on the lot of ground
now used and held tor a school, between the villages of
Berlin and Poplar Town, in Worcester county.

Property vest-
ed in trustees.

8. AND BE IT ENACTED, That, all and singular
the property, real, personal or mixed, belonging to the
Buckingham Academy, or held intrust for the use of the
same, shall be, and the same is hereby vested in the said
trustees, for the purposes aforesaid.

Deed from
Dickson to
Westfall.

An act for the relief of John Westfall, of Frederick
county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the deed from George Dickson to
John Westfall, both of Frederick county, which appears
to have been executed on the thirteenth day of April, in
the year seventeen hundred and ninety-three, and duly
recorded among the land records of said county, purport-
ing to convey to the said John Westfall, his heirs and
assigns, certain lots of ground therein described, situated

in the town of Emmittsburgh, shall be valid to vest in
the said John Westfall, his heirs and assigns, a legal title
to the said property, in as full and ample a manner, as if
the said John Westfall had been a naturalized citizen of
the United States, at the time of the execution of the said
deed, competent in law to acquire a complete right to real
property in this state.

CHAPTER 15.

Passed Dec.
22, 1813.

An act for the benefit of Charles Dashiell, of Charles,
of Worcester county.
Section 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the justices of the Levy Court of
Worcester county, shall be authorised, and they are here-
by directed and empowered at their Levy Court annu-
ally, so long as they shall see cause, to levy on the assess-
