to attend to and secure the interests, and perform the business of
that city in the Legislature; Therefore,
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the free white male citizens of this state above twenty-one years
of age, and no other, having resided twelve months within this state,
and six months in the city of Baltimore next preceding the election
at which they may offer to vote, shall on the first Monday of Oc-
tober, eighteen hundred and twenty-six, and at all times thereafter
have a right to vote for and elect a number of delegates or represen-
tatives to the House of Delegates, equal to that which under the
constitution and law of the land the several counties of this state,
are or may be entitled to elect.

2. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be confirmed by the
next General Assembly of Maryland; then this act and the altera-
tions and amendments therein contained, shall be taken and con-
sidered, and shall constitute and be valid as a part of the said con-
stitution and form of government to all intents and purposes, and
every matter and thing in the said constitution and form of govern-
ment in any wise conflicting with, or contrary thereto, shall bo,
and the same is hereby repealed, abrogated and annulled.

CHAPTER 116.
A supplement to an act entitled, An Act to incorporate the Village of Port de
Posit in Cecil county.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That nothing contained in the original act, to which this is a sup-
plement, shall be understood to prevent the Owner or owners of any
wharf which is or may be erected in said village from having the
exclusive right to use, occupy and enjoy the same at pleasure.

2. And be it enacted, That the governor and council of Maryland
shall be, and they are hereby authorized and required to appoint
one measurer and inspector of lumber for said village, which said
measurer and inspector shall be governed by the same laws with
regard to his measurement and inspection which govern the inspec-
tors of lumber in the city of Baltimore; and that he shall be allow-
ed twenty cents for measuring and inspecting every thousand feet
reduced measure, which said fees shall be paid by the person re-
quiring the lumber to be inspected.

3. And be it enacted, That before the said measurer and inspec-
tor shall proceed to act as such, he shall take an oath or affirmation
as the case may be, faithfully to perform his duty as measurer and
inspector of lumber for the said village, to the best of his skill and
judgment without favour, affection partiality or prejudice.

4. And be it enacted, That when any person may want lumber
measured and inspected, he shall deliver or cause to be delivered
a written notice to the measurer and inspector aforesaid, whose duty
it shall be immediately thereafter to measure and inspect the same;
but that nothing herein contained shall be construed or taken to
compel any person or persons to have his or their lumber measur-
ed and inspected, but that all persons wishing it shall have it done
by the measurer and inspector appointed as aforesaid; and if any
person shall measure and inspect lumber in said village, and receive
pay therefor, without being appointed by the governor and council
