sioned, by the death, resignation or removal out of the county, of
any member of the said board, shall not be supplied, until the num-
ber of the board shall be reduced to eighteen, the number prescribed
by the original act of incorporation, passed at November session,
1779.

2. And be it enacted, That when the number of the aforesaid
board, shall have been so reduced as aforesaid, it shall consist of
eighteen members and no more.

3. And be it enacted, That if this act shall be previously accepted
by the present trustees, and their acceptance thereof, entered on
the journals or minutes of proceedings, at their next regular meet-
ing; then the same shall commence and be in full force.

CHAPTER 59.
An act requiring the judges of the County Courts of the fourth judicial dis-
trict of this state, to set apart certain days for the transaction of chancery bu-
siness in said courts.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That from and
after the first day of June next, it shall be the duty of the judges of
the fourth judicial district of this state, and they are hereby re-
quired to set apart the two first days of each and every term of the
said county courts thereafter, for the hearing and deciding of cau-
ses on the chancery side of said county courts, and all subpoenas
for witnesses, shall be made returnable on the third day of the res-
pective terms of the said county courts; and all jurors summoned
to attend said courts, shall be directed to appear on the third day

of the respective terms of said courts; provided, that nothing in
this act contained, shall be construed to prevent the said county
courts from exercising chancery jurisdiction on any other day or
days of the respective terms of said county courts, as they are now

CHAPTER 60.
An act for the benefit of the trustees of Saint Lucas Reformed Church in
Union Town, Frederick county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That Ja-
cob Appier, senior, Joseph Greenwood and Philip Hiteshew, trus-
tees of Saint Lucas Reformed Church in Union Town, or a major-
ity of them, be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
sell and dispose of by public or private sale, Saint Lucas Reform-
ed Church in Union Town, together with so much of the land
thereto belonging, as is now separated, excluded and detached
from that part forming the burying ground, by a post and rail fence;
and they or a majority of them are hereby also empowered to con-
vey the same to the purchaser or purchasers in fee simple; and the
proceeds of the sale of the said church and land, the said trustees,
or a majority of them shall appropriate as follows, viz: First to
pay and satisfy all monies yet unpaid and owing by the said trus-
tees, or either of them, or any other person on account of the build-
ing of said church; and secondly, to repay and retain the amount
of all monies already paid and advanced by the said trustees, or
either of them on account of the building the said church; and the
balance, if any, to pay over to the contributors to the building of
said church, in proportion to the amount of their subscriptions.
