Reverse de-

cisions.

2. And be it enacted, That if the county court shall in any case
reverse the decision of the levy court or an appeal as aforesaid, it
shall and may be lawful for the county court, and they are hereby
directed to proceed in all respects to have said road opened as
fully as the levy court is now empowered and directed to do
when they shall have granted a petition for a public road on the
said county court, may return the petition with their decision and
proceedings thereon to the levy court, with directions to the levy
court to grant the prayer of the petition and to cause the road to
be opened as prayed for, or as directed by the county court.

Costs thereof.

3. And be it enacted, That the judges of Worcester county court
shall have power, and they are hereby required to determine on
the costs on all appeals made as aforesaid, and to direct how the
costs stall be paid, and who shall pay the same.

Supervisor's
pay.

4. And be it enacted, That hereafter no supervisor of the public
roads in Worcester county shall receive for his services as such,
more than one dollar and twenty five cents for each day he shall
have been engaged as supervisor on the public roads, and in no
case shall the allowance be made by the levy court until at least
three persona who have performed services on the public roads
under the supervisor, shall certify in writing that the supervisor
hath discharged his duty as such, and in no case shall the allow-
ance to any supervisor exceed ten dollars per year.

Repeal.

5. And be it enacted, That so much of the acts of assembly to
which this is a supplement, and all other acts which relate to the
public roads in Worcester county, which is inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

Salary $500.

CHAPTER 12.

An act to ascertain and settle the salary of the Members of the Council for
the ensuing year.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That each
member of the council shall be entitled to receive for the ensuing
year the sum of five hundred dollars current money for his salary.

At free school.

CHAPTER 13.

An act to change the place of holding the elections in the second election
district in Anne Arundel county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That all
elections to be hereafter held in the second election district in
Anne Arundel county, shall be held at the Free School in the said
election district; any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

for Montgo-

mery.

CHAPTER 14.

A supplement to an act entitled, A further additional supplement to the act
for the distribution of a certain fund for the purpose of establishing Free
Schools in the several counties therein named.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the treasurer of the western shore forthwith invest by a pur-
chase of stock of the Bank of Baltimore the sum of four thousand
one hundred and seventy nine dollars and twenty five cents, re-
ported by him as a balance of the school fund in cash, standing
to the credit of Montgomery county on the first day of December
eighteen hundred and twenty four, in the said bank of Baltimore,
