eighteen, chapter two hundred and one, to which this act is a supple-
ment: and provided also, that the owner or owners of such slave or
slaves shall have the right to sell such slaves after such slaves have
been residents for three years within this state: Provided, that no
slave so imported shall be manumitted within three years after the
time of such importation.

CHAPTER 88.
An act for the relief of Catharine Fridley, of Washington county.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
said Catharine Fridley, be, and she is hereby divorced from bed, board
and mutual cohabitation with her husband Andrew Fridley.

2. And be it enacted, That all the right and title which the said An-
drew Fridley, by virtue of his marriage with the said Catharine Frid-
ley may become entitled to in any way or manner whatever, be, and
the same is hereby annulled and made void, and that the said Catha-
rine Fridley, be. and she is hereby declared capable to have, hold.
take, receive, sue for and recover by compromise suit or suits in law
or equity, all such property in as full and ample a manner as if she
were a feme sole and had never been married, and to hold, use and
enjoy the same for her own use and benefit, and the same to dispose
of according to her will and pleasure, without the molestation, inter-
ference, hindrance or consent of her said husband, or of any person
or persons claiming by, from, or under her said husband, in the same
manner she could or might have done were she a feme sole.

Guardian-
ship.

3. And be it enacted, That the said Catharine be, and she is hereby
declared to be entitled to the custody and guardianship of the person
of her son Jacob Fridley without the molestation, let, hindrance, in-
terference or consent of the said Andrew Fridley.

Liability.
|
4. And be it enacted, That the said Andrew Fridley shall not be
liable for any debts to bo hereafter contracted by the said Catharine
Fridley.

tion to justices
of the peace.

CHAPTER 89.
A supplement to an act entitled, an act to encourage the destruction of Crows in
the several counties therein mentioned.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That it shall
and may be lawful for any justice of the peace, who shall grant a cer-
tificate to any person who may bring before him crows heads in ac-
cordance with the provisions of the law to which this is a supplement,
to receive the sum of twelve and an half cents for administering the
oath and granting the certificate, which said sum shall be paid by the
person obtaining the certificate.

CHAPTER 90.
An act for the relief of Joseph Nattali, of the city of Baltimore.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the com-
missioners of insolvent debtors for the city and county of Baltimore,
be, and they are hereby authorised and required to receive and enter-
tain the application of Joseph Nattali for the benefit of the insolvent
laws of Maryland, without requiring from the said Joseph Nattali the

usual security for his appearance: Provided always, that said Joseph
Nattali shall not be discharged from the custody of the sheriff of Bal-
timore county, until the commissioners aforesaid and the county court
of Baltimore county shall have finally heard and decided upon the
merits of his case, and upon any allegations which may be filed against
