hundred and fourteen, ought to be released; and in case the said governor and
council shall so decide, that the said action ought to be released, then that the
said action shall be struck off the docket, upon the payment of all costs by the
said Lowe.
No. 29.
Resolved, That the levy court of Anne Arundel county, be, and they are here-
by authorised and required to examine into the claim of William Bateman of
Anne Arundel county, and to levy on the assessable property of said county,
for the use of William Bateman, such sum of money, (if any) as they may find
due to the said Bateman.
No. 30.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, pay to Thomas Chapman,
of Dorchester county, or to his order for life, in quarter annual payments, the
half pay of a private, as a further remuneration for his services during the re-
volutionary war.
No. 31.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Edward Markland
of the city of Baltimore, or to his order during life, in quarter annual payments,
the half pay of a Lieutenant of the naval service, as a further remuneration for
his services during the revolutionary war.
No 32.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Joseph Williams of
the city of Annapolis, or to his order,during life, in quarter animal payments,
the half pay of a private, us a further remuneration for his services during the
revolutionary war.
No. 33.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Mary Coyn of
Harford county, or to her order, during life, in quarter annual payments, the
half pay of a private, as a further remuneration for her husband, Dominick
Coyn's services during the revolutionary war.
No. 34.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to Margaret Ham-
ilton of the city of Baltimore, or to her order, during lite, in quarter annual pay-
ments, the half pay of a Captain, as a further remuneration for her husband
Captain John A. Hamilton's services during the revolutionary war.
No. 35.
Resolved, That the governor and council, be and they are hereby authorised
and required, to examine the claims of Thomas Franklin and Lewis Neth, Jr,
for cartouch boxes and belts, & if they should be of the opinion that the same are
fair and reasonable claims against the state, to allow the saint, or, so much there-
of as they may think right, and they are hereby authorised and empowered, to
draw upon the treasurer of the western shore, in favor of the said Franklin and.
Neth, for such sum as they may allow; Provided, that the said Thomas Frank-
lin and Lewis Neth, Jr. shall enter into bond to the state for the return of such
cartouch boxes and belts, as shall be paid for by virtue of this resolution.

No. 36.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, pay to William Kilty or
order, in consideration of his services in arrangeing the files and records of the
senate, the sum of one hundred dollars.
No. 37.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore, pay to Standly Robinson,
of the city of Baltimore, or to his order, during life, in quarter annual payments,
the half pay of a private, as a further remuneration for his services as a private
on board the Dolphin during the revolutionary war.
No. 38.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay the account of any
editor for newspapers furnished the legislature during the present session, whose
account may be allowed by the governor and council.
No. 39.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the western shore pay to John Quinn, door
keeper of the house of delegates, and Andrew Slicer, messenger of the senate,
the sum of sixty dollars each, for taking care of the furniture of their respec-
tive rooms during the recess of the legislature.
No. 40.
Resolved, That the treasurer pay to R. G. Goldsborough, Edward A. Wells,
Joseph Mayo, and George G. Brewer, eight dollars each, as a compensation
for their services as additional committee clerics appointed by the house of dele-
gates and the senate.
