Preamble.

CHAPTER 166.

. A supplement to an act, entitled, an act to incorporate a company for the pur-
pose of building a Bridge over the River Susquehanna.
Whereas, by the eighth section of the act, to which this is a sup-
plement, it is enacted, that on the first Monday in June, an election
shall be held for seven directors, which election is directed to be held
by the president and directors, for the time being; and whereas, an
election was held on the first Monday of June last, when the presi-
dent and one other director only attended, and doubts are entertained
whether such election be legal;—Therefore,

Election
confirmed.

Sue. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
said election be, and it is hereby confirmed and made valid.

Annual elec-
tions.

2. And be it enacted, That on the first Monday in June, in every
year hereafter, an election shall be held as directed in the act to which
this is a supplement, in the City of Baltimore, for seven directors
qualified as prescribed in said act, to continue in office until the first
Monday in June next succeeding their election, and until a new elec-
tion shall have taken place, which election shall be held by the presi-
dent and directors for the time being, or such of them as may attend,
of which election one month's previous notice shall be given in so ma-
ny newspapers as they may think proper.

Postponed

3. And be it enacted, That in case a majority of the directors do
not attend on that day, those attending may, if they deem it necessary
appoint another day in the said month for the election, giving such
notice as they may think necessary, and the election on the day they
may so appoint shall be as effectual us if it had been held on the first
Monday in June.

Repealed.

4. And be it enacted, That the eighth section of the act to which
this a supplement be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 167.

An act for the benefit of the infant children of Ann Maria Campbell, of Dorches-
ter County.
Whereas, it is represented by the petition of Doctor Joseph E.
Muse, of Dorchester County, as next friend to Levina Campbell,
Ann Maria Campbell, and Levin H. Campbell, infant children of
Ann Maria Campbell, late of the said county—that the said Ann
Maria Campbell, died, seized of real estate in the said county, to wit:
a House and Lot in Cambridge, about sixty acres of poor land on the
east side of Cambridge Creek, unimproved, and unfit to rent, and a
few acres of wood land near Cambridge} that the taxes, repairs and
numerous disbursments, as well as the decaying condition of this pro-
perty, and the very limited income of the children, make it a matter
of great interest to them to be enabled to convert it into money;__
Therefore,

Sale Autho-
rised.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Doctor Joseph E. Muse, be, and he is hereby authorised and empow-
ered to sell and dispose of all the real estate of which Ann Maria
Campbell, of Dorchester County, died, seized and possessed, and
which now belongs to the infant children of said Ann Maria Camp-
bell, on such terms and conditions as shall be prescribed by the
Orphans' Court of the County aforesaid.
