said Bridge, shall pay the tolls as prescribed in the act passed at
December session aforesaid, for the recovery of which toll the said
company shall have the same remedy as is provided by law for the
recovery of tolls, receivable at the gates on the several turnpike roads
in this state.

Dec. Ses. 1822

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That said company shall have the same
remedy against persons evading said gate, as is provided by law for
the evasion of any other turnpike gate in this state.

Remedy.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted. That the said company are hereby au-
thorised to keep up said toll gate at the bridge aforesaid, and receive
toll thereat untill the said turnpike road as authorised to be made
by said company, be completed and the lawful number of gates be
erected thereon.

Term.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful for said com-
pany to ask, demand, or receive, of or from any person or persons
living within three miles of said bridge, any toll for passing the said
bridge more than twice in twenty four hours.

Exception.

CHAPTER 10.

An act for the relief of Alexander Robertson, of Worcester County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy
court of Worcester county may, in their discretion, and that they be
and are hereby authorised at their first meeting in the month of April,
annually, to levy on the assessable property of Worcester county,
such sum as they may may deem necessary for the support and main-
tenance of Alexander Robertson of said county, and that the same
be paid over by the officer collecting the same to the said Alexander
Robertson or his order.

CHAPTER 11.

An act to settle and ascertain the Salary of the Members of the Coun-
cil for the ensuing year.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That each
member of the council shall be entitled to receive for the ensuing
year, the sum of five hundred dollars current money for his salary.

CHAPTER 12.

An act for the support of George Buckler, of Saint Mary's County.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the jus-
tices of the levy court of Saint Mary's county, be, and they are here-
by empowered at their levy court annually, so long as they shall see
cause, to assess and levy on the assessable property of said county,
such sum of money, not exceeding thirty dollars, as they shall think
right and necessary, for the support and maintenance of the said
George Buckler, and that the same be collected annually by the col-
lector of Saint Mary's county, and by him paid to the said George
Buckler or his order.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland That

pington, George M. Eicleberger, Brooke Baker, David Kemp, Wil-
liam P. Farquhar and Fohn Fisher, be, and they are hereby appoint-
ed and authorised or a majority of them, or a majority of the sur-
