enable them duly and fully in the law to execute all things touching
and concerning the design and intent of their said corporation, for
the benevolent succour, relief and good order of its members, and
the widows and orphans of deceased members of the said society,
agreeably to the constitution and such rules and by-laws as may be
established by the said society.

8. And be it enacted, That no member of the said society, shall,
in his individual capacity, be answerable for any losses, deficiencies
or failures of the joint funds of the said society, for any more or
larger sum or sums of money \vhatsoever, than to the current amount
by him payable into the common fund of the society.

Exemption.
|
9. And be it enacted, That if at any time it may be deemed ne-
cessary to dissolve this society, a proposition to that effect shall be
laid on the table, in writing, at a stated meeting of the society, and
may be discussed at the next stated or special meeting, but shall not
he finally decided on until it has been two full months before the
society, and shall not take effect unless throe fourths of the members
residing within the city of Baltimore are in favour thereof.

CHAPTER. 90.
An act for the benefit of William Usselton and Simon Beck, of Kent
county, soldiers of the revolution.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
levy court of Kent county be, and they are hereby authorised and re-
quired to levy annually upon the assessable property of said county,
so long as they may deem it necessary, a sum not exceeding fifty
dollars, for the support and maintenance of William Usselton, and
Simon Beck, all of said county, and that it shall be the duty of the
collector of said county, to collect and pay over to the said William
Usselton and Simon Beck or their order, the sum so levied, in equal
proportions for their said benefit.

CHAPTER 9. 1.
A supplement to the act, entitled, An act to repeal parts of the acts of
assembly therein mentioned.
Section. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of 'Maryland,
That all fines hereafter to be imposed by magistrates upon persons
who. profanely swear or curse in their presence, in virtue of the pro-
visions of the act of 1723, chapter 16, shall be placed by them in the
hands of the constable or constables of the hundred wherein the said
offenders may reside for collection, and it shall be the duty of the
said constable or constables to collect the said fines by execution or
otherwise, and make a return to the magistrate or magistrates to be by
them paid over to the levy courts of their respective counties.

2. And be it enacted, That all such parts of the aforesaid act of
assembly passed at September session, 1723, chapter 16, as are in-
consistent with the provisions of this act, be, and the same are here-
by repealed.

An act for the relief of Thomas 1 Perry, late of Allegany county.
lie it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
judges of any county court of this state be, and they are hereby au-
thorised and empowered to extend to Thomas I. Perry, late of Alle-
gany county, but now of the state of Virginia, the benefit and relief
of an act passed at November session, eighteen hundred and five, en-
