An act for the relief of George Teaman, of the city of Baltimore.
De it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That George
Yeaman be, and he is hereby divorced from bed, board, and mutual
cohabitation with his wife, Francis Maddox.

CHAPTER 80.
An act to incorporate the Asbury Sunday School Society.
WHEREAS it is represented to this General Assembly, that a num-
ber of persons in the City of Baltimore have formed themselves into
a society for the purpose of teaching children on the sabbath, and are
desirous of obtaining an act of incorporation, to enable them more
fully, to carry their benevolent design into effect. And whereas this
General Assembly is willing to aid and encourage an institution so
truly praise-worthy in its object, therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the aforesaid persons, and such other persons as may hereafter be
admitted into their said society, agreeably to the present constitu-
tion, rules and bye laws of the same, or such alterations and amend-
ments of the constitution, or new rules and regulations as may here-
after be made and adopted by the said society, shall be, and they and
their successors are hereby declared to be, one community, corpora-
tion and body politic forever hereafter, by the name and style of
"The Asbury Sunday School Society, " and by that name they shall be,
and [are hereby made able and capable in law to have, purchase, re-
ceive, hold, possess, enjoy and retain to them and their successors in
fee, or less estate or estates, any lands, grounds, tenements, rents,
annuities, chattels, United States' stock or other stock, or other stock
or stocks within this state, whether the same be acquired by the gift,
purchase or devise of or from any person or persons, bodies politic
or corporate capable to make the same; and the same property, real,
personal, or mixed, to alien, sell, transfer, or lease, in such manner
as they may judge most conducive to the benevolent uses of the said
society: Provided nevertheless, that the said corporation or body poli-
tic shall not at any one time hold or possess property, real, personal,
or mixed, exceeding in total value the sum of ten thousand dollars.

2. And be it enacted, 1 hat the members of the said corporation and
their successors may meet together on such days and times, and at
such place or places in the city of Baltimore, as the said society may
appoint, and may, at such times and places, elect the officers of the
said society, form such rules and regulations, make such alterations
and amendments in and to their said constitution, and make such
by-laws, as may be necessary for assuring and carrying into effect
the benevolent purposes of the said association, and the present act;
provided such rules, regulations, alterations and amendments in and
to the constitution and by-laws, be not repugnant to the constitution
and laws of the United States, of the State of Maryland, or of the
Corporation of the City of Baltimore.

3. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be lawful for the said
corporation and their successors forever, to have a common seal for
their use, and the same at the will and pleasure of them and their suc-
cessors, to change, alter, break and make anew, from time to time,
