Vacancy.
|
3. And be it enacted, That if any of said commissioners shall die
or remove out of the county of which he is a commissioner, before the
completion of the said new bridge, or shall refuse to act, the survivor
or survivors shall appoint some other person for the county in which
such vacancy shall happen, in his or their stead, and the person or
persons so appointed shall have the same power and authority as is
vested in the commissioners named in this act.

Repairs.
|
4. And be it enacted, That from and after the erecting and building
the said bridge, it shall be kept up and repaired at the joint expence
of the three said counties in the proportions before mentioned.
|
Old bridge.
|
5. And be it enacted, That the commissioners shall dispose of the
old bridge to the best advantage, and the money arising therefrom,
shall be disposed of by them as they are directed to dispose of the
sums levied by the several counties aforesaid for building the afore-
said bridge.

Account.
|
6. And be it enacted, That the said commissioners or some one or
more of them, shall render to the justices of the levy courts of the
respective counties respectively, at their levy courts next after the
expenditures of the said monies, a just, full and fair account of all
money by them laid out and expended by virtue of this act, and if
after completing the said bridge, any surplus money shall remain in
the hands of the said commissioners, or any of them, the same shall
he repaid (in the same proportions as heretofore directed to be paid)
by the said commissioners, or some one of them, to the justices of
the lew court or to any four of them, of the respective counties to
be applied towards defraying the public charges of the said counties
respectively.

Compensation
|
7. And be it enacted, That the commissioners appointed by, or in
virtue of the provisions of this act, shall be entitled to receive for
their services, a sum not exceeding two dollars each, per day, for
every day they shall be necessarily employed in the execution of the
duties enjoined on them by this act, each to be paid at his respective
county charge.

Repeal.
|
8. And be it enacted, That the law passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-one, for building a bridge over Tuck-
ahoe creek, be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 50.
An act for the benefit of Catherine Byram of Kent county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the levy
court of Kent county, be, and they are hereby authorised and re-
quired to levy annually upon the assessable property of said county,
so long as they may deem it necessary, a sum not exceeding thirty
dollars for the support and maintenance of Catherine Byram of said
county; and that it shall be the duty of the collector of said county
to collect and pay over to the said Catharine or to her order, the sum,
so levied, for her sole benefit.

CHAPTER. 51.
An act to alter and change the place of holding the elections in the.
fourth election district in Harford county.
lic it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
judges of the fourth election district in Harford county, be, and they
are hereby authorised and empowered to hold in future the elections
in said district, in a new house lately built by Samuel Marshall
about one hundred yards from the present place of holding the elect
