Preamble

CHAPTER. 31.

An ait authorising the Levy Courts of Anne Arundel and Prince Geor-
ges Counties to levy a sum of money for building a bridge over
Patuxent River, at Queen Anne.
WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assembly, that the
bridge over Patuxent River at Queen Anne, has become danger-
ous, and almost impassable, from the decayed state of the same, and
that it would greatly conduce to the convenience of the inhabitants
of said counties, and the public generally, that a new bridge be erect-

ed at the place aforesaid; Therefore,
Section I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the justices of the levy courts of Anne Arundel and Prince
George's counties, be and they are hereby authorised and directed to
levy on the assessable property of said counties, at their next meeting
for the purpose of laying the levy of said counties, a sum of money,
not exceeding seven hundred dollars in each of the aforesaid coun-
ties, to be collected and paid to the commissioners, for the purpose of
erecting the bridge aforesaid.

2. And be it enacted That William D. Claggett. Richard Estep, and
John Iglehart, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners, a
majority of whom shall have power to act, to contract with, and em-
ploy any person or persons to build and complete the same; and are

hereby vested with authority to dispose of all the materials composing
the present bridge in such manner as they may think most advantage-
ous and to apply the proceeds thereof to the building the one authori-
zed by this act.
3. And be it enacted, That the levy courts of said counties allow to
each of the said commissioners two dollars per day for each day they
may be employed in advertising, contracting for and receiving said
: bridge.

A supplement to An act entitled, "An act for the relief of George
Womeldorf of Washington county.
Whereas, In the act to which this is a supplement, passed at Decem-
ber session eighteen hundred and twenty-one, chapter one hundred
ninety-eight John Womeldorf was by mistake; called George Womel-

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the act
aforesaid, shall be considered to all intents and purposes as an act
for the relief of John Womeldorf.

CHAPTER. 33.

A supplement to the act entitled, ''An act for the benefit of Mary Scott
of Charles county.
WHEREAS, In the act aforesaid Elizabeth Scott was by mistake,
called Mary Scott; Therefore.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the afore-
said act passed at December session eighteen hundred and twenty-
one, chapter eighty-two, be and the same is hereby declared to all
intents and purposes to be an act for the benefit of Elizabeth Scott
of said county, as intended by the original act, instead of Mary

Proviso.

Scott therein named; Provided, That under that original act, the sum
therein directed to be levied, shall only be levied so long as the
levy court of said county shall think the said Elizabeth Scott stands
in need of such assistance.
