3. And be it enacted, That the following persons shall be,
and they are hereby appointed commissioners of the tax for Caro-
line county: Robert Orrell, William Whitely, Thomas Saulsbury,
Jacob Charles and William Thawley, who are hereby authorised
and empowered to carry into full effect and operation all the provi-
sions of the act to which this is a further supplement.
4. And be it enacted, That so much of the act to which this
is a further supplement, as is repugnant to, or inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 84.
An act to prevent Swine and Geese from going at large in the village
of Friendship in Anne-Arundel county.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland
That from and after the tenth day of April next ensuing, it shall
not be lawful for any swine or geese to go at large in the village of
Friendship, in Anne-Arundel county, within the following limits,
that is to say: Beginning at the south west corner of Alexander
Hill's lott, riming east with Thomas Whittington's line to the
corner of Lewis Sutton's land, and with the said Lewis Sutton's
line to the gate northward on the road leading to Herring Bay, (be-
longing to Joseph G. Harrison's land;) thence a north-west course
to a large oak, the corner line of Samuel Wood's lot; thence west,
crossing the road running northward, by the north side of William
P. Hardesty's new dwelling house, to the east line of Captain Tho-
mas T. Simmons; thence south with the said line, crossing the west
road, with the line on that side of Thomas Whittington's land, to
the beginning boundary at the south-west comer of Alexander
Hill's Lot.

2. And be it enacted, That from and after the time aforesaid,
it shall and may be lawful for all and every person or persons, to
take up and impound any swine or geese which may be found going
at large within the aforesaid limits, belonging to any of the inhab-
itants thereof, and the owner or owners shall be obliged to pay on
reclaiming any swine or geese so taken up and impounded, at the
rate of twenty-five cents for every hog, and at the rate of six and a
quarter cents for every goose, for every twenty-four hours the same
may have been in possession; And provided, That when any geese
or swine are so taken up, they shall be advertised by notice in writ-
ing, set up at two of the most public places in the said village of
Friendship.

3. And be it enacted, That all disputes arising between the
captors and the former owner or owners of the said swine or geese
shall be referred to a justice of the peace in and for the said coun-
ty, who shall have authority to summons before him such persons as
may possess any knowledge of the matter in dispute, and the said
justice shall decide between the parties according to the testimony.

CHAPTER 85.
An act to enable the Commissioners of the Town of Havre-de-Grace
to hold a lot of ground, and the improvements therein mentioned.
Whereas, It appears that the commissioners of the Town of
Havre-de-Grace, in Harford county, have bought a lot of ground
and erected on it a good and convenient brick School House, with
