tion met as aforesaid for the purpose of worship, at any time during
such camp or quarterly meeting, it shall be the duty of any justice of
the peace, on his view, or on the information of any person support
ed by affidavit, to have such offending person brought before him
or some other justice of the peace of the said county immediately,
in the manner directed by the third section of this law, and to cause
such person so offending, to enter into recognizance in the penalty
of twenty dollars, with sufficient security to be approved of by the
justice, for the sobriety and good behaviour of such offender during
the continuance of the said camp or quarterly meeting; and upon the
neglect or refusal of the person so offending to enter into such recog-
nizance, it shall be the duty of the justice before whom the said
offender shall be brought, to commit such offender to the public jail
of said county, for and during the continuance of the said camp or
quarterly meeting, and no longer.

5. And be it enacted, That if any justice of the peace to
whom any sum may be paid by virtue of any of the provisions of
this act, shall neglect or refuse to pay over the said sum to the levy
court of said county, such justice shall forfeit a sum double in
amount to the sum received, to be recovered by indictment in the
county court of said county.

Repugnant
acts repealed.
|
6. And be it enacted, That such parts of any act of assembly
which are repugnant to, or inconsistent with the provisions of this
act, be, and the same are hereby repealed, so far as respects Calvert
county.

CHAPTER 76.
A further additional supplement to an act entitled, An act to incorpo-
rate a company for erecting a Bridge over Chester River at Ches-
ter-Town.

Preamble.
|
Whereas, Doubts have arisen whether the lottery authorised
by the several supplements to the act to which this is an additional
supplement, can be drawn except in the order of time prescribed by
the act entitled, "An act to regulate lotteries;" and it is represented
to this general assembly that the said bridge has been actually erect-
ed by the contribution of individuals in the belief that the said
lottery would be drawn to reimburse them in part for their con-
tributions—Therefore,

' Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the lottery authorised by the several supplements to the act
entitled, "An act to incorporate a company for erecting a bridge over
Chester River at Chester-Town," may be drawn at any time here-
after, and that the provisions of the act entitled, "An act to regu-
late lotteries," or the supplements thereto, so far as the same shall
relate to the time or order in which lotteries are thereby directed to

be drawn, shall not extend to or affect the said lottery: Provided
nevertheless, That nothing in this act shall be construed to alter or
in any manner to impair any of the terms or conditions on which
the said lottery is authorised to be drawn, and which are prescribed
in the said several supplements to the act to which this is an addi-
tional supplement.

2. And be it enacted, That the said lottery shall and may be
drawn under the direction and superintendance of the commissi-
oners of lotteries, and that the commissioners or managers, before
