Orphans' court
may order trus-
tee to convey.

CHAPTER 196.
An act to authorise the Orphans' Court of Montgomery county to ap-
point a Trustee to convey the lands of the heirs of John A. Brown
to Joseph Neale.
Be it exacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
if the orphans' court of Montgomery county shall be satisfied that
the lands intended to be sold and conveyed under the act of as-
sembly passed at December session eighteen hundred and seven-
teen, chapter one hundred and twenty-five, are the lands of the
heirs of John A. Brown, and that a fair sale has been made and the
purchase money paid for the same, then and in that case they shall
order the trustee heretofore appointed under the act aforesaid, to
convey the said lands to the purchaser by a good and sufficient
deed; which deed when so made and recorded, shall have full ef-
fect to vest in the said purchaser the title of the heirs of John A.
Brown to the lands and estate therein to be described.

CHAPTER 197.
An act to pay the Civil List and other expenses of Civil Government.
Whereas, Those who dedicate their time, abilities and labor
to the public, ought to receive a reasonable compensation for their
services,

Salaries.
|
Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the following officers of the civil government for the time being,
shall be entitled to receive at the rate of the following salaries, in
current money for the ensuing year, to wit: The treasurer of the
western shore, two thousand dollars; the treasurer of the eastern
shore, four hundred and fifty dollars; the auditor, five hundred
dollars; the clerk of the council, one thousand dollars; the clerk of
the senate, one hundred and fifty dollars; the clerk of the house of
delegates, three hundred dollars; the printer to the state, one thou-
sand four hundred dollars; the messenger to the council two hun-
dred and fifty dollars.

2. And be it enacted, That all monies which shall remain in
the treasury after discharging the journal of accounts, and all un-
appropriated money which may come into the treasury, be first ap-
plied to the payment of the civil list for the ensuing year.

CHAPTER 198.
An act for the relief of George Womeldorf of Washington county.
Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
George Womeldorf, be and he is hereby divorced from bed, board
and mutual cohabitation with his wife Catharine Womeldorf, alias
Catharine Price.

Pensioners to
take an oath.

CHAPTER 199.
An act entitled, An act relating to the payment of pensions granted
by this state.
, Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the western shore shall not, after the passage of
this act, pay any order drawn by any person who now is or may
hereafter be placed on the pension list, unless the same be accom-
panied with an oath (or affirmation) of such pensioner, as the case
