3. And be it enacted, That the levy court of each county
shall levy such sum or sums of money as they shall deem necessary
and expedient to do from time to time and from year to year, on the
assessable property of their county, as will be sufficient to open and
make all such alterations of the said located road in their county
conveniently passable; and shall direct the overseer or overseers of
said road in their county, to open and make conveniently passable
such road, so far as the money put in his or their hands will go to-
wards opening the same from time to time and from year to year,
as the appropriation shall be made, until the whole shall be opened
and made conveniently passable..

CHAPTER 185.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to provide for the erection of
an additional wharf in the town of Nottingham in Prince George's
county, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the levy court of Prince George's county are hereby authorised and
required, to levy on the assessable property of Prince George's
county, and pay to William Strickland, such sum of money as they
may deem necessary, not exceeding two hundred dollars, as a furth-
er compensation for building an additional wharf in the town of

Passed Feb. 20,

1822.

$200 may be
levied.

Nottingham: Provided, the said levy court before they proceed to
levy and pay to the said William Strickland, the said sum or any
part of it, shall be satisfied that the sum for which the said William
Strickland has already contracted to build the said additional
wharf, is insufficient to enable him to complete the said wharf in. the
manner directed by the act to which this is a supplement.

CHAPTER 186.

An act for building a Bridge over Tuckahoe Creek where the old
bridge now stands.
Whereas, The inhabitants of Queen-Ann's, Talbot and Ca-
roline counties, by their petition to this general assembly, have set
forth, that the bridge over Tuckahoe Creek is in a ruinous and al-
most impassible condition, and will require to be re-built before the
next session of the general assembly—Therefore,

Passed Feb. 21,
1822.

Preamble.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy courts of Queen Ann's, Talbot and Caroline coun-
ties shall, on or before the first day of May next, appoint each one
person as a commissioner for said county, with directions to meet
at Hillsborough, on or before the tenth day of May next, to examine
the said Tuckahoe Bridge, and make a joint report in writing to each
of the respective levy courts as aforesaid, stating whether in their
opinion the said Tuckahoe Bridge will require to be re-built before
the next session of the general assembly or not.

2. And be it enacted, That if it shall be the opinion of the
commissioners so as aforesaid appointed, that the said Tuckahoe
Bridge will require to be re-built before the next session of the gen-
eral assembly, and they make joint report to that effect to the
respective levy courts as aforesaid, that then each of the said com-
missioners so as aforesaid appointed, shall be and they are hereby
appointed commissioners for the purpose of building and complet-
ing the said new bridge: and the said commissioners, or a majority
