this act; the said three years tuition to be paid for, either under
the provisions of the act to which this in an additional supple-
ment, or the act, entitled, An art for the distribution of a certain
fund for the purpose of establishing free schools in the several
counties therein mentioned, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and sixteen.

CHAP. 86.

2. And be it enacted, That the trustees for the education of poor
children, appointed or to he appointed under the act to which this
is an additional supplement, in making their annual reports to
the levy court, shall state in each the length of time which each
child reported by them may have been educated at the public ex-
pense.

3. And be it enacted, That the accounts of no teacher shall be
passed or paid unless the same shall he proved by him or her in
the usual manner of proving open accounts, by oath or affirma-
tion, which probat shall be endorsed on or annexed to the said
accounts, unless in case of death of the teacher, when a certi-
ficate from the trustee of the subdivision wherein the teacher may
have kept school, stating that he believes the said account to be
correct, shall he sufficient without a probat.

4. And be it enacted, That when the account is proved as afore-
said, it shall be presented to the trustee of the subdivision where-
in the teacher may hold his school, for inspection, and if he
believes the same to be correct, he shall endorse a certificate
thereon to that effect, after which the president of the board of
trustees for the election district within which the said subdivision
may be, may draw an order on the treasurer of the school fund
in the manner directed by the original act to which this is an ad-
ditional supplement.

5. And be it enacted, That hereafter no child shall be entered
at school by the quarter, but by the week, and no teacher shall
receive pay for any week unless the child shall he at school some
part of the week for which he may charge. And every teacher
shall receive as a compensation for his services a sum to be fixed
by the trustees for the education of poor children, not exceeding
twelve dollars per annum for the tuition of each child.

6. And be it enacted, That the provisions of this act shall ex-
tend to Kent county alone.

CHAP. LXXXVII.
An Act to ratify the Proceedings of the Commissioners, appointed by Dorches-
ter County Court to make Division of the Lands and Tenements of Doctor
Daniel Sullivan, late of the same County, deceased.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
proceedings of the commissioners appointed by Dorchester coun-
ty court to make division of the lands and tenements of Doctor
Daniel Sullivan, late of the same county, deceased, be and the
same are hereby made valid and effectual to every intent and
purpose whatsoever, in as full and ample manner as if the same
had been in all respects according to law.
