CHAP. 72.

nient wharf on such land, and to purchase all necessaries and con-
veniencies for carrying this act into execution, and the expenses
for the same shall be assessed and collected on and from the inha-
bitants of said county, in the same manner as the county assess-
ment, and shall be paid by the sheriff or collector to the order of
the said justices, or any three of them.

CHAP. LXXIII.

A Further Supplement to an act, entitled, An Act to incorporate a Company
to make a Turnpike Road from the Town of Westminster, in Frederick Coun-
ty, through Harman's Gap, to Hager's-Town, in Washington County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
further term of ten years be and the same is hereby granted to
the president, managers and company, of the Hager's-town turn-
pike road company, to complete the turnpike road from West-
minster, in Frederick county, to Hager's-town, in Washington
county.

tional subscripti-
ions.

2. And be it enacted, That the president, managers and com-
pany, of Hager's-town turnpike rood company, he and they are
hereby authorised and empowered, to open books for additional
subscriptions of stock to the capital stock of said company al-
ready subscribed, and the said president, managers and company,
are hereby empowered to open subscription books at such times
and places, and in such manner as they may deem expedient, any
thing in the. original act to which this a supplement to the contra-
ry notwithstanding.

Payments, how to
be made.

Proviso.

3. And be it enacted, That any subscriptions of stock which,
may be taken by virtue of this act, shall be payable in such in-
stalments as the president, managers and company, shall call for
the same; Provided, that no instalment shall exceed in amount the
one fourth part of the subscription, and sixty days notice shall
be given before such instalment shall become due.

CHAP. LXXIV.

A Supplement to the act, entitled. An Act to incorporate a Company to make
a Turnpike Road from Boonsborough, through Williamsport, to intersect
the Turnpike Road now making from Cumberland to the West Bank of the
Conococheague, passed December Session eighteen hundred and seventeen.

Time extended for
commencing road

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a fur-
ther time of three years is allowed The Williamsport Turnpike
Company to commence the turnpike road from Boonsborough,
through Williamsport, to intersect the turnpike road from Cum-
berland to the West Bank of the Conococheague, and the further
term of seven years is hereby allowed the said company to com-
plete the same.

Passed Jan. 23, 1821.

CHAP. LXXV.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An Act to incorporate a Company to make
a Turnpike Road from the West Bank of the Conococheague Creek, at Wil-
liamsport, to intersect the Cumberland Turnpike Road, at or near the Stone
Quarry Ridge, passed December Session eighteen hundred and eighteen.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That a fur-
ther time of three years is allowed The Williamsport and Cum-
berland Turnpike Road Company to commence the, making of
said road, and the further term of seven years is hereby allowed
the said company to complete the same.
