CHAP. 62.

CHAP. LXIII.

An Act to provide for the payment of the Jurors in Prince-George's County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
levy court of Prince-George's county be and they are hereby au-
thorised and required, annually to levy on the assessable proper-
ty in said county a sum of money not exceeding fifteen hundred
dollars, to he applied to the payment and discharge of the expen-
ses incurred by the attendance of jurymen at Prince-George's
county court.

2. And be it enacted. That the sum of money, when so levied
and collected, shall be deposited in the Planters Bank of Prince-
George's County, and a certificate, signed by the clerk of the
county court, expressing the number of days which any jury-
man may have attended, and the sum due to him for such atten-
dance, shall be a sufficient authority to the cashier of said bank to
pay the amount so specified in the said certificate.

3. And be it enacted, That the said justices of the levy court
shall, annually, settle and balance their account with the said
bank, and the surplus, if any to be applied by the said justices
to the use and benefit of the said county.

4. And be it enacted, That until the said sum of money shall be
so as aforesaid collected, the justices of the levy court of said
county shall, and they are hereby authorised, to defray the allow-
ance of jurymen of the. said county court out of the money belong-
ing to Prince-George's county, deposited in the Planters Bank of
Prince-George's County, to be drawn therefrom by a certificate,
signed by the clerk of the county in the manner above directed.

CHAP. LXIV.

An Act authorising Letitia Rochester to convey the Lands therein mentioned,
and for other purposes.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly by the. pe-
tition of Letitia Rochester, of Queen-Anne's county, that the
commissioners, in the location of the public road from Church-
Hill to Sudler's Cross Roads, cut off from the farm of her late
husband Samuel Rochester, about three acres of laud, and threw
it upon the opposite side of the road, thereby rendering the same
of little or no value, and prays a law authorising her to dispose
of the said land, not worth, in the whole, more than twenty dol-
lars, for the benefit of the children of her late husband Samuel
Rochester; Therefore,

Preamble.

I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
said Letitia Rochester be and she is hereby authorised, to sell
and convey all the right, title, claim, interest and demand, of her
children, in and to that part of the land cut off by the road afore-
said, to any person she may think proper, provided she shall ap-
ply the money arising from such sale to the purchase of lands
adjoining the said farm, and obtain a good and lawful deed of
bargain and sale for the same, to and in the. name of the chil-
dren of her late husband, in lieu of the land she is hereby autho-
rised to sell, and not otherwise.
