245. An act for the relief of Grace Bewley.
246. An act for the relief of Emily Wilmot, of the city of
Annapolis.
247. An act to set apart the real estate of Baltimore county,
known as the almshouse property, for the payment of the
public debt of said county, and for dedicating the same to
the reduction of the direct taxes of said county.
248. An act to consummate the division of the joint prop-
erty of the city and county of Baltimore.
249. An act for the relief of the sureties on the bond of
William Goldsborough, former collector of Queen Anne's
county.
250. An act to change the corporate name, style and title
of the Mechanics' Exchange and Savings' Company, incor-
porated by the General Assembly of Maryland, at January
session, 1852, chapter 300, to that of the Exchange Bank.
251. An act to incorporate the Bel-Air and Hickory Turn-
pike Road Company, in Harford county.
252. An act to authorise the Cumberland Coal and Iron
Company, to convert a portion of its capital into shares of
preferred stock; and to issue its bonds, secured by mortgage
or by deed of trust.
253. An act to empower the Fire Inspector, commissioned
by the Mayor of the city of Baltimore, under an ordinance
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to issue sum-
monses for the attendance of witnesses, to testify before him
as to the origin and cause of fire occurring in the city of Bal-
timore; and in case of refusal of witnesses to attend, or, after
attendance, refusing to testify, to authorise any justice of
the peace of the State of Maryland, in and for the city of
Baltimore, or any one of the Judges of any of the Courts for
the city of Baltimore, upon application of the Fire Inspector,
to impose a fine upon such person so refusing, and authoris-
ing said Justice of the Peace, or Judge, to commit to prison
until fine and cost be paid.
254. An act to incorporate the Miller Coal Company.
255. An act to provide for taking the sense of the people
upon the expediency of calling a Convention to frame a new
Constitution and form of Government for this State, and to
provide for the election of delegates to said Convention.
