SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the president
and directors, or a majority of them, shall have
full power and authority to call upon the subscri-
bers to the capital stock of the said company for
the payment of the respective amounts subscribed
for in instalments of such amount, and at such

shall give public notice of the day on which the
payment shall be made, at least fifteen days previ-
ous to said day, and in case any stockholder shall
refuse or neglect to pay such portion of his, her
or their subscription at the time appointed, the
president and directors may proceed to recover
the same by due process of law.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That all moneys
belonging to the said company shall be paid into
the hands of the Treasurer of said company, and
the same shall be paid out by him on the order of
the president and directors signed by the presi-
dent.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That the president
and directors, or a majority of them, shall have
full power and authority to contract for and cause
to be erected the bridge aforesaid, and are hereby
authorised to select such site for said bridge, not
lower than the present site of the ferry, as they
or a majority of them may deem most safe and
convenient; and they or a majority of them shall
have full power and authority to agree with and
appoint such engineers, superintendents, and
other officers as they may think necessary to con-
struct said bridge, and to contract and agree for
materials and all such articles as they may deem
necessary; and may draw upon the Treasurer of
the said company for money to pay the wages or
salaries of all persons by them employed, or for
materials furnished.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That the said presi-
dent and directors shall cause to be built and kept
in repair a convenient and sufficient draw over
the navigable part of said river, of not less than
thirty feet in width, and shall at their cost, and
without charge or toll, cause the passage way to
be opened, without any unnecessary delay, for the
passage of all vessels that are unable to pass un-
der the same.
