istaction for the same, or any part thereof, more
than the credits allowed thereon; Provided, that

said affidavit shall not he held to be conclusive
evidence of indebtedness to said collector, but

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
not continue in force longer than one year from
the passage of this act.

take effect from and after the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 412.

To take effect.

AN ACT to incorporate the Leitersburg Town
Hall Company, at Leitersburg, Washington
county, Maryland.

Passed March
9, 1858.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Jonathan Middlekauff,
Josephus Ground, Christian Mentzer, Joseph Lei-
ter and Humphrey Hicks, be and they are hereby
appointed commissioners to receive subscriptions
to the Leitersburg Town Hall Company, and they
or any three or more of them are hereby authoris-
ed, after giving five days notice in the most public
places of said town, to open a book or books, at
such time and place as they may specify or ap-
point in the notice given, and receive from any
tree persons of full age subscriptions of shares or
parts of shares, said shares to be of twenty-five
dollars each, of the capital stock aforesaid, to an
amount not exceeding three thousand dollars; the
said commissioners shall continue the books open
as many days as they shall deem proper, or close
them at any time after forty shares or more shall
be subscribed; and within ten days after forty
shares shall be so subscribed the commissioners or
any two or more of them shall appoint a day of
which they shall give ten days notice as aforesaid

stockholders directors of the company to hold their
