SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That nothing con-
tained herein shall be construed as granting
banking privileges to the said corporation, or ex-
empting their property and effects from general
taxation.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this corpora-
tion shall be required to mate an annual state-
ment of their affairs, under the oath or affirma-
tion of their president, to be published once a
week for four successive weeks, in one or more
newspapers of Baltimore city.

Reservation.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the Legisla-
ture reserves to itself the right to alter or amend
this act of incorporation whenever the public in-
terest may require it.

AN ACT to allow Henry M. Langley, late a
collector of Election District number one, of
St. Mary's county, further time to complete
his collections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That Henry M. Langley, late
collector of State and county taxes for the year
eighteen hundred and fifty one, for the First
Election District of St. Mary's county, be and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to col-
lect any taxes, or balances of taxes, now remain-
ing due to and uncollected by him in the county
and district aforesaid, in the same manner and
with the same power and privilege as are allow-
ed by existing laws in such cases made and pro-
vided.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Henry
M. Langley shall in every instance, before he
shall proceed to the aforesaid collection, make
affidavit before some Justice of the Peace for St.
Mary's county, that the same remains unpaid,
and that he has not received any security or sat-
